too many variables

August 23, 2012

first, THANK YOU ALL
so much for your valuable, supportive, and helpful thoughts on tuesday night’s post.  you all have helped me so much [and not just this time].  seriously, i can’t tell you how much i appreciate it.  the internet can be a scary place when it comes to motherhood, and i feel so lucky to have such incredibly smart and nice people reading and adding to this blog in my safe little corner.

a. is still asleep [!!!!]
one wake-up last night, at midnight, to eat . . . and she’s still passed out as i type this at 7:11 am.  in fact, i’m unfortunately going to have to wake her up in a few minutes to get to work.  i’m not sure whether it was the extra 3 oz of milk during day care or the fact that josh and i have decided to just put her in the rock ‘n’ play [unswaddled] after any post-midnight feeding session, but i don’t care.

i feel rested for the first time in ages.

back sometime soon with a more substantial post.
but i just wanted to express my gratitude this morning.   yeesh, i’m so happy today!  even though it’s thursday.

easy sirloin salad via this month’s clean eating mag
i loosely followed their recipe, but you don’t need one.  basically:
1. slice up sirloin; grill on grill pan [or outside]
2. prep salad: mixed greens, bell peppers, grape tomatoes
3. prep vinaigrette: olive oil, red wine vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper
4. add bleu cheese [or other cheese of choice]

total time = 20 minutes or less, plus i even left a portion undressed so that it could be enjoyed for lunch yesterday.

run/workout report:
monday – tempo, 3.5 miles in 31 minutes
tuesday – rest
wednesday – 4 miles easy [37:30]
