5 Very Quick Things on a Friday

July 1, 2022

From the plane ($15 wifi . . . seems to be functioning). Self-a-delphia trip w/ Genevieve is underway!

1- G got a COVID vaccine! Moderna @ Walgreens. She did have a brief fever right around the 24 hour mark, but it was gone by morning.

2- I hosted book club! We chatted about summer reads, discussed Sea of Tranquility and it was really fun. 5 people came (3 neighbors in the immediate complex + 2 local friends). So glad I made this happen and we already set a date and place for the next meetup so hopefully this will be a new fun social thing in my life!

3- I moved into my new daily planner (EC Daily Duo). So far, so good. We will see if I miss the daily notes pages from the FFP. AND finished a mid-year review and set July goals. I enjoyed doing a bit of extra reflection the past few days.

4- I finished Ryan Holiday’s The Obstacle is the Way. My stoicism exploration continues . . . I am not sure this was an earth-shattering read for me but I find the principles of stoicism oddly comforting and I definitely feel like they will be something good to keep in mind headed into call (next week).

5- I am getting some great dispatches from camp. Cameron sent his first letter which melted my heart a little! They look very happy in all the pictures and A seems to be consistently hanging out with one girl – can’t wait for more details.

More tomorrow . . .

book club sounds fun, especially with people you know. how did you choose the book? how the experience differs from reading alone?

I tried to choose something that wasn’t that long from an author I knew I liked 🙂 I’m not sure it changed the reading experience that much but it was really fun!

Hi Sarah, random q but are you still sending out your monthly newsletter? I used to get it but haven’t for a while and I’m not sure if that’s on my end or if you’re on hiatus…
