america’s next top midget
okay, not quite. but i had a fun time on a running photo shoot with josh this afternoon! i submitted a profile to women’s running magazine for their women who move feature, and they wrote me back saying they were possibly interested and asking for some photos! now, they may do that with every profile they receive, but i figured . . . why not? josh and i headed to a pretty floral street in chapel hill and shot away. he did a great job — it’s hard to catch someone mid-run at the right time! i like #5 . . . i hope the magazine does too!

last ER shift!
i’m about to head into my last ER shift of the year, and i have to admit i’m finally tired. last night was easy street (doctors, nurses, and RTs were actually watching the NCAA tournament in empty patient rooms!) until a pregnant teenager with abdominal pain (her second pregnancy, i might add) walked in and took over my night. at least it was an easy IV! but the 12 hours were long, and i am about to go back in feeling like i was JUST there.

last one, though. then rest and an easy month, plus a visit to miami next weekend! so much to look forward to in the coming weeks . . . i feel lucky.

workout: 4 miles on the treadmill @ 9:13/mi, 0.5% incline. this felt pretty easy — i didn’t wear my HRM (sometimes i really feel like it gives me restrictive lung physiology!). i also did a 20 minute yogadownload — the gentle hatha yoga #1. gentle it was, and a nice stretch post-run. sadly, i was a little sore today and had to XT, but 3 runs this week definitely is an improvement!

doin’ time: nope. still working on the leftover pad thai!

I’ve always thought that 7p-7a shifts are the weirdest…you leave one day and return the same day for your next shift! Wow! All of our ER shifts are 12 hours (except for the random swing shift which is 10)…how great would it be to have 8 hour shifts! All of our pregnant patients get sent over the the women’s ER.

I love both running pics and the ones at the end with you tying your shoes. CUTE!!!

P.S. Hmmm, Duke v. ‘Nova….? As a Philadelphian AND the father and father-in-law of Duke grads, I’m kind of torn.
