Apparently I can’t stay away

December 1, 2014
I’m back.  That wasn’t such a long break, huh?
Goings on:
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun.  My parents are here for the first time to experience the wonders of a sunny 70+ degree holiday season.
I made Emily’s Coconut Sweet Potato Casserole (not paleo; it has oats) and a key lime pie (also not paleo . . . at all) to bring to the family feast.  I was really happy with how they turned out.
Mr. C ate his meal and passed out.  A skipped her nap but did surprisingly okay.

I am now obsessed — obsessed! — with this book.  Or rather, the life-changing project suggested in this book, which is to essentially clear your home of everything that does not spark joy.

YES EVERYTHING.

I did not shop at all over the Thanksgiving weekend.  Buuuuuuut . . . it’s 6AM and I already spent a ridiculous amount of cash on Cyber Monday, ordering holiday gifts with promo codes.  I am going for mainly practical gifts this year:  cute clothing for my nieces/nephews (J. Crew has 30% off today), Target and Amazon gift cards for teachers/babysitters/mailman/etc, and the like.  I did make a big Kikki-K order (Australian stationary company that sells very girly cute things) for friends.  I’m not done but I definitely made a significant dent!
This basically sums up our weekend:

Well, that and a lot of work — I have been on call and was in the hospital 4+ hours/day over the holiday weekend.  However, the nights have not been bad (so thankful) and I’ve enjoyed a lot of family time too.
Happy Monday & Happy December.  I guess I’m back!
