Grateful For:

November 24, 2022
  • Health, including generally healthy kids + extended family members. Even those with health challenges are doing well right now. Not something to take for granted.
  • The library and books and authors!
  • My 3 beautiful children AND the fact that all are still asleep right now at 7:39 am.
  • Online streaming workouts.
  • My husband, who is about to run a very fast (to me, anyway!) 5K. I am grateful for our relationship and for how he shows up for our family.
  • Podcasts. Both the ones I listen to and the ones I put out into the world! And, Laura and my sound/audio team!
  • ALLLLL the planners and the fact that there are others who find comparing paper and pen types fascinating!
  • Sunny weather today and no thunderstorms in the weather forecast.
  • Music, streaming services, and Taylor Swift. (Even if I have yet to score concert tickets. Hey, April is many months away . . .)
  • The kids’ teachers and our nanny, for being such dedicated caregivers.
  • Paid leave and our call system which allows me to be truly off when I’m off.
  • Coffee and whoever discovered the magic of caffeine.
  • A community that feels safe enough to run in before 6 in the morning.
  • The resurgence of 1990s fashion, because it’s fun to see outfits I would have loved on my kids.
  • My college BFFs, and the fact that we are still in touch and have hopes to see each other next year.
  • Comfortable shoes with heels so I can be just a little bit taller without pain.
  • The promise of a fresh blank notebook (or even a fresh page in a used notebook).
  • Pink lady apples and peanut butter.
  • The fact that I only had to make one thing (well, 3 of one thing) for Thanksgiving today.
  • Being able to see family today!
  • ALL OF YOU reading this, whether you have ever left a comment or not. (But especially those that have, because you make this space such a vibrant and fun community!)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

our actual holiday card 🙂

    What a great gratitude list!
I don’t comment often but I read regularly and I really appreciate your work and voice. It has made parenting and life feel less lonely with conversation on so many hard parts and fun in celebrating the good as well.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, Sarah. I’m thankful for your encouragement – via podcast and here at the blog – as I juggle the chaos that is kids/work/life.
I’m in Canada, so Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror for me (we celebrate in early October), but I love that despite the fact I won’t be eating any turkey today, there are so many joy prompts around the interwebs from my American friends. It’s the best of both worlds; none of the holiday stress with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude <3

Good luck with Taylor tickets! I was lucky enough that my sister got a presale code for our city and after sitting on ticketmaster for 8 hours and having about 100 errors/glitches (she works in a hospital, so as the office worker of the bunch I was the designated ticket-buyer) I actually got tickets! Still can’t believe it, and I can’t wait! Our concert isn’t until June so I have a ways to go.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I was bummed to not get Taylor swift tickets. The resale market for them is batsh!t crazy. I didn’t have a presale code and then after hearing about what a debacle it was for presale I figured there would not be tickets left for the general public. Hopefully I will see her on a future tour! But I hope you can find reasonable tickets!

I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving. We had a nice day with my family. Probably experienced the worst toddler meltdown from missing his nap/falling asleep at 4 on grandma. But besides that, it was a really nice day! I have a long list of things to be grateful for, too!
