Ep 214: How to Build More Intentionality Into Your Life

September 3, 2024

In the latest episode, I explore the concept of intentionality. Included are lots of examples and ways we can unknowingly live without much intention and some strategies (large and small) to promote more intentional living.

Things to think about:

  • Career autopilot/drift
  • Responding to others’ expectations
  • Saying yes to everything
  • Failing to set boundaries
  • Consuming media that is served to you via algorithms
  • Setting intentions for the day
  • Regularly re-evaluating routines and habits
  • Thinking through how you wish to spend precious resources
  • Giving yourself time and space to think through your big goals!

    Hi Sarah!
Unrelated question, but I’m hoping you’ll be be able to answer:) I know you do the Japanese training for your hair. I’m looking at getting it done. Do you have any thoughts on it, worth the expense, etc.? I’m assuming you think it is because I know you continue to do it! Just wondering on taking the plunge and if it will be hard to grow out!

I cannot speak to growing it out since I’ve done it for 17 years!!! Ha! But I love it. If you have wavy or frizzy hair and want it smooth and straight it works so well.

I loved this episode Sarah! I think a lot about how to recognize when the survival mode part of small kids is over. And I wonder if I have to start thinking of myself as out of survival mode before I really feel I am… possibly the same as when I decided to start trying for a baby before I was probably really ready. And as a mom of 10 month old twins I do appreciate the twin shout out too. I tried to start daily planning again this week and it’s gone south quick when childcare collapsed and then my four year old came home ill from school one hour into her first day. Oh well! There’s always daily planning tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder to enjoy the spot we are in, but realize it may be over (for good or for bad) before we know it. Your podcast really brightens my monday.

Great episode, and I also loved the BOBW episode about college prep. I always like having two fun podcasts to start off my week!
