We interrupt the DITL (sorry! and I have to admit I got a bit lax in my documentation Sunday, but I’ll provide a summary in a separate post) to bring you this week’s Show Notes.
Allison Schaaf is the creator and owner of PrepDish (longtime BLP sponsor!) and her business is based on planning, specifically around meals! But she also has plenty of wisdom to share around planning the rest of life, from long term goals to handling emails and managing a team. She is also highly interested in streamlining tasks as she is a mother of 4 (including a baby!).
While PrepDish is a sponsor, today’s episode is not an ad or compensated in any way – I just wanted to highlight some of Allison’s planning techniques both in and out of the kitchen!
Shared by Allison:
- Clever Fox planners
- Superhuman email
- Traction (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
- Die with Zero

Sarah! Did you catch that you & Laura were mentioned in a listener question on Cal Newport’s Deep Questions podcast (episode 350). I love when podcasting worlds overlap!
YESSSS and I loved it!! (and am tempted to answer her question on BLP too!!!)
I do think I get an overview of Ms. Allison Schaaf’s planning systems through today’s episode, Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger. Although, I’ll need to figure out later on how Entrepreneurial Operating Systems are different from Enterprise Resource Planning software.
I agree that much of meal preparation is about planning, Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger.
And no, unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll become superhuman by using Superhuman email.
