WASN’T SHE JUST BORN?!?
No, but she will always be our family’s baby. I feel so lucky and happy that she is part of our family!
It has been a big year of growing up for her – definitely more changes in the past 12 months than in quite some time. She is now an excellent reader, a natural leader at school, gregarious and social, but also full of emotion, passion and energy.
G!!! YOU ARE 8!!!

AND YES, still into dolls. She is currently asleep but is going to be so happy when she sees this in a few minutes. (You all encouraged me loud and clear not to judge but rather to embrace this choice, and she reiterated MULTIPLE times this was the only thing she wanted . . .)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GENEVIEVE!!!!!

Happy birthday to G!! She is so darn cute! 8 is such a great age! And now you’ve inspired me to see if Paul would want to do an organizing project. Ha!! I am glad she can hold onto some of her younger child interests like the bitty baby. There is no rush to grow up. At Will’s Dr appt last week he said he can’t wait to be a grown up and I was like – no, really, stay little for as long as you can!
I hope you have a wonderful celebration with your sweet girl!
She really is so adorable and looks so mature for her age but also like such a happy kiddo!
I am SO glad you got her that toy!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! She’s not a baby anymore! Eight is a really great age- right in between little kid and big kid. Happy birthday to Genevieve!!!
Happy birthday G! She’s such a cutie, I started following you right around the time she was born so I’ve been on the journey with you- lovely to see her grow and develop. My own daughter is only a few months older than G, and yes, she’s also getting a doll as her main gift this Christmas! Hers is a Baby Alive Growing Up. I also questioned her and she was adamant, so it’s going under the tree!
Happy birthday G! I meant to comment on the post where you wondered about getting her the doll, that I played with baby dolls well past my 8th birthday. I remember taking the ferry to Kowloon to go to the Toys R Us when I lived in Hong Kong to spend my money on a Zaphf Creations Doll. I must have been 10 or maybe even 11 years old! Just saying, some of us like to play with dolls for a long time. We’re cool like that. 😉
I love that!!!!! (I was not a doll kid – I wanted all the craft supplies and loved playing with a typewriter and cassette recorder probably most of all . . very prescient)! Well, and BSC books and nintendo games. That about sums up my bday wishlists for most of childhood!
Happy birthday Genevieve! Can’t wait to hear what she thought of the doll- I’m sure she’s SO happy!! The best gift to give is one the recipient will adore. 🙂 I love that picture of her on Thanksgiving.
Such a beautiful gift God gave you. She is so cute and a good girl. My daughter is 6 and I feel like my kids (3 as well) are just behind yours in age. They’re spaced out similarly.
aww thank you!!! I love the spacing and so happy I went for #3!!!!!
What a cutie! Happy birthday, G! So much fun to see our kids’ personalities develop as they grow. Mine is 31 (HOW?!) now, and I still enjoy learning about him as a person.
