BLP Ep #288: Your Guide to Airtight Task Management

February 2, 2026

I open up this ep with a little update on how 2026 is going so far (planner and goal-wise) as we head into February), and then dedicate the rest of today’s episode to airtight task management — an oft-requested topic!

I talk all about awareness of one’s inboxes (the places where we all collect tasks) and share ideas for creating a strategy for processing all of the task-based items that tend to come our way in all sorts of forms and timelines.

I did not have time to do a video (though I still want to) but here’s a typical task management spread for me – note tasks down the lefthand side (for the week) and assigned to specific columns (tied to a specific day or even time slot).

paper CAN contain multitudes!

PS: My little mini PHL trip was great! I would have posted about it but the AA free wifi on the way home didn’t work, ha! More tomorrow.

Really enjoyed this episode. Airtight task management is my nemesis. Bits of paper / notebooks galore. When you suggested a post it note with your phone, I had an epiphany. I’ve downloaded an app / widget called Quicky Sticky for the front screen of my phone with the idea that any random thoughts can be noted there, as I pretty much always have my phone to hand, and then when I’m with my planner, I will transfer it there. Keep your fingers crossed for me. 😁

I’m so glad I zoomed in and saw “LA Olympic Draw” on your calendar! It’s on our 2028 plans and I just registered, too!

My tip for capturing tasks or thoughts when I’m away from home: I tell Siri, “Remind me to ________ when I get home”… I get a notification as soon as I arrive home about that thing! I almost never use Siri, or the Reminders app, except in this one way.
