Sunday Catch Up Day

August 2, 2026

The Odyssey was really fun (note: A/G stayed home. A dislikes action movies/violence and G is definitely not ready for this kind of movie yet. C did go though and enjoyed it).

Anyway! I feel like August is off to a very promising start. We had a sushi dinner with Josh’s dad after the movie and the day was generally chill and fun.

TODAY however I have to face up to our mild disaster of a house, lack of clean laundry, empty fridge, un-audited YNAB, and more. I do have pilates but beyond that plan on dedicating the day to a Sunday reset because it is TIME.

I am on call next week! Reflecting on my upcoming schedule, I have 3 weeks of call left in 2026 and 2/3 are during weeks when the kids are not in school. I actually think this is IDEAL, because part of what makes call so challenging is having to stick to early drop-offs and late night pickups when I’m also having unpredictability in my sleep/evenings.

So, yay.

MY UNREALISTIC TO DO LIST:

Haha. If I complete 50-75% of the above we’ll call it a win!

UPDATE:
I wrote this post this morning and realized it never posted! Ahh well. Thus far, it has actually been a shockingly productive day. I went to Pilates and on a walk with A.

The Laundry Festival was mostly completed by Josh, but I got groceries, did a meal plan, ordered Sephora (okay not every task was that hard, ha), texted my SIL about dinner, updated the BLP Live workbook, did my show notes/course page update and put the week on the board.

I suppose I will have to delve into YNAB. (We ate lunch late, so perhaps I can even get done before dinner . . .)

BONUS ITEMS:

A (not me) made both these pb energy balls AND the egg bites (those with her friend)!! AND she helped me organize the hall closet.

she used this recipe
these will probably last a day so next time – double batch! she followed the recipe from this video – just eggs, milk, cheese, salt, pepper and I think they added tomato, onion, and some shredded cheddar
disaster zone
and now I can find my keys and ID!

Ha ha, I also like “laundry festival.” Nice reframe there! And the fact that Josh did laundry is encouraging! He’s up and about!
Those energy balls look really good. I love Nora- her recipes never fail us.

Saw nails on your list. I highly recommend the Essie gel polish even for a regular manicure. I am going on day 10 and no chips!
