Ep #268: Planner Peace & Accessibility + Discussing Wirecutter’s 2026 Planner Picks

September 15, 2025

In today’s episode, I share a Planner Peace submission from R, a lover of paper planners with a vision issue that makes small print and light colors difficult to work with. Please send in any ideas for bright and bold planner brands to share with our listener!

Then, I share my own thoughts + notes on Wirecutter’s picks for next year’s planners, from Laurel Denise to Erin Condren to Agendio, but no Hobnoichi! Super curious what others think of these picks!

Send me your own thoughts on the reviews, or submit your planning questions via email (sarah hart unger at gmail).

For best decorated, I surprised Happy Planner didn’t land on the list as it’s very readily available.

The accessibility space is interesting. What makes something accessible for one person can make it inaccessible for others (ex something that is placed at wheelchair height is inaccessible to my 6’5″ sibling). I’m glad there are a variety of planners out there that meet many peoples needs. I know for me, if the lines are dark, it’s not a planner for me as I need my pen strokes to jump off the page for me, not the layout – but have full appreciation that for someone with low vision, high contrast is important. The See It Bigger line from PlanAhead is large and mostly higher contrast.

Lol at Erin Condren picking Erin Condren. I just bought a Plum undated weekly planner, and that would be my minimalist pick. I actually also use a daily, but it is so nice to see a whole week laid out cleanly, and it is easy to tuck the weekly spread into my daily planner.
