14: reflection

May 16, 2007

i was at the supermarket, loading my usual whole foods assortment of fish and vegetables and fruit and peanut butter and other sundries into the car, when i realized: it’s been a good year. a disgustingly good year. in fact, it’s been a good 5 years. ages 22 – 26? definitely the peak of my life thus far, despite what they say about college. i actually really had a wonderful time in medical school, at least when i wasn’t dissecting a cadaver or anywhere near an OR. i have everything i could want, and more.
to everyone in my life who helps to make it this wonderful: thank you. you know who you are.
