day 1?

May 2, 2007

many things have happened since my last entry at the ephlats reunion.

1. i finished medical school!!

2. i took the stupid step 2 cs exam. i read this the night before the exam, as i was ‘cramming’ by having my parents act as fake patients. it freaked me out. if i failed, it will be somewhat catastrophic, as it is a requirement to start residency. the failure would also be rather embarrasing for my residency program as not allowing me to start would be like saying, ‘even though OUR illustrious med school accepted you and passed you with flying colors, it obviously didn’t do a very good job of teaching you how to be a REAL doctor to fake patients.’ argh, i really hope that i passed.

3. i guess that’s about it.

i thought i would have more to put on this list. well, those are pretty big things.

i think i might pull a michelle and try to post every day for 30 days. i need a record of this sweet, sweet vacation before The Beginning of the End (ie, residency).

Congrats on finishing med school! I'm totally jealous. Hope you enjoy some free time before the big string of 80 hour work weeks begins!

sarah! congratulations! also… i'm sure you passed CS. i passed. my roommate passed and one of his patient interactions went as such: "hi, so i see you have difficulty walking." "yes." after eliciting minimal hpi and past medical history, he conducted a physical exam that consisted SOLELY of SQUEEZING HIS CALVES. then he left the room. and passed. but i understand… i'm nervous that i didn't pass Step 3!
