unfortunately, you all do not win a free space 24. this site (or, for that matter, my real job) just doesn’t generate that kind of coin, yo.

but you all ♥ win my heart ♥ for playing.

as a reminder of what was up for grabs, the exacompta space 24 was my tried-and-true planning tool for years. features include monthly planning pages, a weekly layout with the all-important blank page for lists, an address book insert, and super-smooth high quality ivory-colored paper.

the winner’s version will be bamboo, which is not only eye-catching and fun, but it is also apparently a new designer color.

so without further ado, here’s our winner:

congratulations, anonymous commenter! you wrote:

i am flattered, and hopeful that you will see this and identify yourself! because 2011 is quickly approaching, if the prize is not claimed by friday morning, i will draw an alternate winner.

the breakfast challenge: day 2
once breakfast’s darling, there is a fair amount of oatmeal-bashing around blogland these days. commenters gripe that they are tired of sites which feature bowl after bowl of the stuff. it’s not photogenic (unless you have kath‘s amazing skills!), it’s not innovative, and it’s just not that interesting to read about.

but it still makes for a lovely and filling breakfast! when i make oats, i keep it very simple; this bowl included:

— 1/2 cup oat bran
— pinch of sea salt
— 1/2 sliced banana
— water to cover it all
— generous spoonful of natural peanut butter

all microwaved for 2.5 minutes and stirred into creamy submission (BEFORE adding the peanut butter, to clarify). it was warming and tasted good, though it reminded me of being post-call since this was almost always my go-to meal after a 30 hour shift (i would eat it and then promptly pass out).

20/20 home cure?
no, i haven’t forgotten about the apartment therapy home cure! however, i think i am going to table it until december (ie, grant submission time) so that i can give our space the attention it truly deserves. it will be a countdown to apartment bliss in 2011!

sneak peaks:
declutter books or media

buy flowers and sit for 10 minutes

i’m excited already. but for now: off to run!

southwestern stuffed acorn squash

i realize this is a hideous picture. this unphotogenic meal has an unfortunate resemblance of the ubiquitous puking pumpkin pictures that are all over the place. but really, if you can, look past the exterior and just imagine how good it might taste. we both really liked this recipe! the only sub i would use is perhaps a sharper cheese (pepper jack?) rather than swiss, but that is just personal preference. i am looking forward to enjoying some ugly leftovers for lunch today.

I just can&#39t bring myself to like oatmeal! I wish I did since it&#39s so filling…..but no.

Haha, that picture does look scary, but so do ALL of mine. I like the idea, though.

Not sure where this oatmeal bashing is taking place, but I don&#39t want to know. Glad it appeared in the week of experiments!
