Well!
I didn’t mean to disappear for so long, but . . . life happened. Our trip to Philadelphia happened, too! The blog reno is almost done, and while I hoped to have it for 1/1, it will likely show up next week (don’t worry, I’ll let you all know when to make sure you click through to check it out, if you usually read on feedly).
I know many of you were excited about some planner posts — I apologize for the delay, but I think I just got a bit plannered-out, if that’s even possible. Or more accurately, I just ran out of time/energy to finish prepping my own planner, and I didn’t want to show you all a half-finished product. Our trip to PHL last week was great for family bonding, but there was little bandwidth for much else.
Like planners. Or blog posts.
Anyway, I hope you are all still with me, because I am absolutely dying to get back into more of a routine, and am excited to announce that we are MOVING in 2 days to our new home in Cooper City, FL. I do plan on sharing (gradually, as I finish prepping/get it into use!) my 2019 Hobonichi Cousin setup, so stay tuned for that if interested. As usual, I will continue to post planner-related pix on shubox_plans, so you can follow there for quick posts/photos, too.
I have many pent-up posts for you. Nighttime routine thoughts. Moving-related things. Baby sleep updates (spoiler: it’s still not so great). Workout plans for 2019! Resolutions (or lack thereof).
But for now . . . I will continue watching Tidying Up with Marie Kondo!!!!! (!!!). And we will see if perhaps I can do a January blog streak to let out all of those pent-up posts, as I have attempted in previous years . . . here we go!
(Not going to do a whole trip recap, but here are a few highlight pix):
snuggly airport baby
(this girl became extremely attached to me on this trip. I recognize that’s a bit odd to say because of course she’s always been attached, but she was just very vocal about wanting me. Not going to lie: I kind of loved it.)
SNOW! We went tubing at Blue Mountain so the kids could experience snow without the commitment of a real ski day. Next year I think we’ll go for skiing!
COLD park experiences (none of which lasted long. I realized I have never really had non-infant children during an actual winter before, and I have no idea how you all do it.)
From our live podcast taping (at Laura’s house!)
grandma snuggles
Nok Hockey. Family fun for all (including G who just like to sit down in the middle of the game).
Random shot of the IKEA measuring tape — 2 kids big enough for Smalland! WIN!
(In case I haven’t declared my undying love for IKEA recently: I love IKEA! So, so much.)

PS: I’ve emailed the first 4 commenters to the Amelia Lane post, asking for addresses – please respond ASAP so I can get these on their way!
