WBR Day 7: Rain go away!

December 27, 2019

I believe I mentioned previously that this was our ‘good’ weather season. However, the past several days have been rainy and gray. COME ON SOUTH FLORIDA WEATHER!

Not ideal. But at least we were out of the house.
I’m rapidly running out of indoor ideas

Yesterday we hit YAA, and I suspect we may be going back there because it’s the easiest closest indoor activity to us now. We may have to check out the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale too — I may even spring for a membership since it would pay for itself in 2 visits over the course of the year (and I prefer having the option of multiple shorter visits).

The kids watched Cinderella 3 while I made dinner. (Note: Disney Plus is great).

chicken shawarma, greek salad, tzatziki. Kids ate the salad. G threw a tantrum throughout entire meal (something to do with wanting yogurt . . . and honey . . . and more honey on top of her honey.)

Will pivot to a quick Report on Yesterday because I hear G:

Workout: BB 21DFX Yoga

Meditation: Skipped! oops

Reading: More of Red White and Royal Blue – I want to finish my 2 current reads by the end of 2019!

Work email: So I have not checked since 12/20 and was going to allow myself to check in today. But honestly, I don’t necessarily know that I will; I don’t have enough childcare or bandwidth to deal with anything right now and no one has called me with emergencies, so it can probably wait all until the new year . . .

In other news, I have spent the past couple of days getting my Hobonichi (and accessory notebook) ready for 2020! And I think it’s almost there . . . just in time. Happy Friday!

MODs in downtown Ft. Lauderdale is great, we get a membership every year. They recently built an outdoor physics playground and our kids love it. We love YAA as well but my older son (7) prefers MODs.

Good luck. I don’t blame you for finding this challenging and so appreciate you sharing that you also *gasp* allow your kids extra tv sometimes. I have some guilt about the amount of screen time my not even 2 year old has experienced in his young life – let’s just say it’s a *lot* more than his older sister at this age. But our age gap is similar to yours between G and C and it just kicks my butt some days when the younger one attacks the older one 10000x times to try to steal the more desireable big kids toy she is playing with and then sobs for 10 minutes when you stop him from breaking said big kid toy. I feel guilty for struggling with this so badly some days. I honestly was fine with one toddler- it’s the combination that makes me feel like I live in a war zone. Outside time helps a lot but is in short supply where live right now 😢

Please tell me more about Disney Plus! My au pair mentioned it, and I’d never heard of it… but this is the second time I’m hearing about how magnificent it is in one week.

I started reading The Gifted School, and… it is brain candy, but I am definitely enjoying it. Thx for the rec!

I hope for your sake the rain stops soon. 🙂

Disney plus is like Netflix but all of Disney’s entire catalog for like $8/month! Star Wars included. It’s great if D is into their stuff.

    1. Yes to Disney Plus! I’m hoping we get grandfathered in to this price because I’m sure they will be increasing it!
    2. That dinner looks delicious!!
