It was so much fun to chat with Laura Tremaine on this episode! I’ve been a big fan of hers for quite some time. I especially appreciate her honesty + her passion around books and reading.
We did discuss planners (she uses Plum Paper!) but also veered into other life management topics, including division of labor at home + strategies around kid schedules. Plus books, of course!

I’m feeling somewhat hopeful about this week after a very rocky last week. I woke up generally looking forward to the day, which is always a good sign!
I am almost done with my 2022 reading list (though to be fair . . .it’s less structured than prior and may contain more books than I will actually get to in 2022).
Rest of the morning: strength workout (I’ve been back to Peloton strength) + get ready + early drive to work (7:50 conf that is virtual but I need to be in my office when it starts). Happy new week, everyone.

Your 2022 book list reminded me of many books that are on my TBR/ kindle /just in my head as want to read. Thanks for publishing it,I’ll use it as base to my TBR, I need to make one very soon.
Loved this episode, thank you! Another enjoyable mix of two podcasters I like listening to.
I loved this episode! I am a big Laura Tremain fan. I was sad when she announced her podcast was ending. I love how honest and vulnerable she can be. Her book was excellent and would make a great gift for girlfriends and/or for a girlfriend get together. On the surface, I would think we are quite different since I don’t describe myself as artistic. But I have a lot in common with her, like having anxiety as a child and battling that through life and NOT being spontaneous! I hadn’t heard her talk about her approach to time tracking! It kind of reminds me of some of Gretchen Rubin’s suggestions as she will often say to set a time for 10 minutes to motivate yourself to do something and then you will often keep going. Laura’s approach is kind of the opposite as she seems to use timers to not get pulled into something for too long. But I think the strategies are similar overall.
I also really enjoyed this episode. I love how you talked about being organized for the things that matter to you. This really resonates with me. We put pressure on ourselves to be all the things – like if we aren’t super tidy or on top of ta meal plan but we can still accomplish so much we don’t give ourselves credit for and i heard that in Laura’s description of herself.
