Uh oh

January 26, 2022

There are once again URI symptoms in this house. When will we reach the point when a kid coughing does not fill me with an overwhelming sensation of dread?

REALLY not in the mood for this, but also was expecting it.

Wish us luck.

As least my wordle streak remains unblemished. Can’t take EVERYTHING away . . .

I’ve been working from bed all morning b/c my 4 year old has a terrible headache and is miserable. He wants to be right next to me. Negative rapid test, no cough, just mildly snotty, so debating whether we need a PCR. No fever at all, so maybe/hopefully a sinus thing?

Ouf. Wishing everyone good health. I miss the days when a cough or sniffle was just par for winter weather and not the start of a unspeakable fear that my family will be the ones to shut daycare down.

Have you seen this take on Wordle:

Kind of hits close to home for a lot of us these days.

      Oh that is HILARIOUS.

Hilarious and so true. Everyone seems to have COVID right now and it is boggling my mind how we have not gotten it yet? Every test has been negative, but I feel like my life is in now in that “ominous music” stage. You know, in the horror movie when doom is coming and the protagonist doesn’t know it…but the viewer does. And then BAM.
My husband is traveling out of the country for work this week and I’m REALLY hoping his PCR to leave the US/re-enter Canada is negative.

I started playing wordle, too! It’s so fun and I love that it’s not an ap and is just one word/day!

I am recovering from a URI. My Covid test was negative. I skipped right to a PCR because the brand ofat home tests has given me 2 false positives the 2 times I’ve used them on myself. But has given negatives for the baby. So I know they can work. We have had 6 Covid PCRs in our family since 1-1! All negative. I am so over worrying about Covid!

I hope you guys stay healthy and Covid-free. Our daycare changed their policy so I was able to send the boys to school yesterday and took the day off so I could nap and rest. It made a huge difference. Up until this change, you had to keep kids home if there was a pending Covid test. Now they only need to stay home if they are symptomatic. But they are healthy thank goodness. I have never been sick so much in my life but my Covid test has been negative every time. So I guess there is just a lot of crud going around.

Agree. I’m ready to go more than 4 days without someone having a runny nose, sore throat or coughing. I don’t see how that’s asking too much!

I hope it turns out to be a false alarm!
I just found out I have covid, and my 1 year old has a fever and almost certainly does too although he’s too young to take a RAT. We are visiting friends interstate and now have to isolate here for 7 days instead of going home on Sunday so it’s the worst possible timing, but we knew we were taking a risk travelling during the Omicron surge.

My 4 yo came home with a runny nose from school yesterday and told me “I Have the Flu!” His rapid test was negative. We all have some kind of nasal symptom at the moment – NC weather goes from Winter to Spring every day, our house is being renovated so there is dust everywhere. I’m blaming it on that. But, I was up last night unable to sleep ruminating that we’d have to skip school today. Turns out he woke up fine. I am always just waiting on the other shoe to drop!
