Happy July 4th to my American listeners! I imagine this episode might be listened to a bit later this week which is 100% okay. Or maybe you are enjoying your planning fun on the way to a family bbq (I mean, I totally would).

Mini-Review: The Plan by Lauren Truslow
This is one I hadn’t heard of until very recently, but when I saw it via annie_plans (this was during my quickie foray into Insta to get questions for ep 100!) I had to order it.
I left the planner at home and I’m currently in PHL, but here’s one of their pix:
It is important to know this is a BIIIIIIIIIG book! Very large coils and lots of pages, since it contains the entire year with a daily page (combo for sat/sun, but a meal planning page each sun).
The layout is lovely. I love the health/fitness focus. The paper is quite nice with only very minimal show through with super-inky pens, and almost zero using my standard Pentel Energel Clena 0.4.
It is on super sale ($26) if you are interested in trying one out for the remainder of the year! I would LOVE to see a smaller version — A5 maybe? — that contained 3 months at a time.

Very cute pic. I bet G is LOVING the time w mom! Looking forward to listening to this episode. Happy 4th!
“The Plan” looks so cool! I like that layout. I might be tempted to try one but it’s annoying they don’t spell out which cover is which artist so you know what you are ordering. I just love learning about new planners haha even though I have mostly finally reached my peace with the quad layout from Plum (and I bought the EC compact vertical for 2023).
Quick Pilot Frixion tip. If you leave a planner in a hot car and some writing disappears, you can stick it in the freezer. It should bring the writing back. So I’ve heard anyway. Not sure it would save your reader’s laminated artwork though. Might be worth a try! 🙂
so funny! what interesting technology those pens are.
I know! I keep trying to like them but they haven’t fully won me over. An illustrator I follow on patreon uses them with a hobonichi and they work so well for her! I end up an inky mess when I try using them on that paper.
I was told by the supplier (I work in a stationary store) that yes, if you laminate something made with frixion pens you can indeed pop it in the freezer for about 10 min and the art should come back. I actually tested this at my workplace and it did indeed work 🙂 also if you leave a notebook in a cold car when the temperature drops to near 0 (in celcius) then your writing will also reappear. Good to be careful if you erase them wrote over that space again.
