PHL Report: Day 1

July 2, 2022

So far, so good!

G is 4.5 and honestly has been a very easy travel companion overall.

fell asleep in last 5 minutes of the flight!
alllll the attention

We had some park playtime today and then headed to Laura‘s for a live podcast recording (I think we only were interrupted by a kid once 🙂 ).

ready for action
in person podcasting selfie!

I was able to go for a (hilly! surprisingly hot!) 5 mile run this morning, and G is now enjoying a little iPad time while Grandma looks on. My dad is picking up some pizza (Detroit style, intriguing!). G is eating off of a plate I made in 1985. Life is good.

1985 original!

My husband’s mom has those same plates. My 8 year old twins are currently visiting her and using them too. Whatever they are made of must be indestructible!!!

Neat penmanship even as a 4 year old. Love it!

Or 5 year old? I was assuming you were same age as me. Lol.

I guess 4 or 5 depending on when in the year it was done! Guessing 5 🙂

Haha my parents have a seder plate that was also made around 1985 with what I’m assuming was the same kit. I think you made the picture and then mailed it somewhere and got a plate back in the mail?! Ours is still in use every Passover. 🙂

Oh lovely! I had a good flight with my son who is a few months over than G. Our flight was 3.5 hours late, departing at the time we were supposed to land, including a 45 minute wait in a stairwell… but T was a total champ. We had snacks, one of those brainquest genius colouring books, and a pile of Lego magazines. The only issue was when we were settled in a corner and T declared he needed a potty urgently. Luckily this hero jumped in and said “I’ll sit in your spot, leave your stuff, go, go, go!” And then when T got shy when the border guard asked if I was his mum, but luckily we have the same last name.

Glad it’s been a great trip so far! Our 4yo was pretty easy to travel with in February, too. And I am sure she is loving having her grandparents to herself, in addition to mom!! Love seeing you and LV together!
