Ep 139 Show Note: AMA (Ask Me Anything)

March 27, 2023

This was a fun one to record thanks to the questions you all sent in!

First I share a note from a listener that the widely beloved Get To Work Book is going to be phased out! Definitely big news in the paper planner world. GTWB, you will be missed! Interested in what users will gravitate to as alternatives.

And then – the AMA. Topics:

1- Do you ever think you will go back to social media?  Is there anything you feel you miss about it?

2- What is your current morning routine like?  Do you ever sleep in?

3- If you could take a one-year paid sabbatical from your 60% time clinical job, how would you spend it?

4- I don’t think you have done a deep dive on migraines yet, right?  What have you tried, what has helped?  Beyond prescriptions, what is working for you and what seems to be triggers?

5- What is the best trip you’ve ever taken destination-wise? I’d love to hear your answer both with kids and adults only. I love to travel and think our kids are about the same age, so I am curious!

6- How do you manage clothing in your house?  Kids, yours, seasonal changes or wardrobe updates?

7- Do you have a system for keeping track of cooking recipes? There are a lot of different recipe sources: cookbooks, websites, emails, IG posts, etc — it’s easy to lose track of things. Do you have a system for saving recipes that you find interesting and want to try? Do you save them somewhere? How about printed ones a do you take a picture of it? When you try a recipe and you like it – do you migrate it somewhere for keeping?

8-  Favorite book you’ve read so far this year?

All my answers in the ep! Thank you for a great list of questions.

And on that note, my 2023 reading list is finally up! No links yet but it has the essentials 🙂

Hi! Just wanted to let you know I didn’t hear any ads when I listened in the morning (might have changed by now). But just thought I’d let you know! Also, I love hearing what people would do “in a year off” questions. We would definitely explore with a lot of travel. I love watching families on social media take a year off to travel, but I don’t know how I’d feel with a complete travel year.

Because they are ‘dynamic insertion’ i think it can vary what you hear!! Interesting!

There was no ad for me either here in Minnesota… That has happened a handful of times!

I don’t miss social media either. It was definitely a net negative contributor to my overall happiness. It’s pushed me to reach out to others and as a result, my connections are more meaningful v liking a post/picture. Our block has a facebook page, so I sometimes miss seeing that content but my husband is still on FB so he can tell me if anything important gets posted!

CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) has a show called Tapestry — and this Sunday they did a short segment on planners and spiritual calligraphy. I think you might enjoy it. https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-59-tapestry

I was cracking up that you put social media and soda in the same category as hard drugs. LOL! I enjoyed the AMA episode!
