As an alternative to a 5 year journal, I am in my 3rd year of writing in the 3 year Flecks if Gold journal, put out by Rachel Nielson, host of the 3 in 30 podcast. The idea is to focus on one fleck of gold from the day, one bright spot in the sometimes overwhelming rush of kid related stressors each day. I think it’s only available to buy near the end of the year because it starts in January, but you date the years yourself. I’ve really enjoyed being able to see what stages my kids were at 2 years ago.
Love that tip! 3 in 30 is a great podcast!!
Would love to see Vanessa’s different collections, topics! Love the idea so much.
Yay! Loved hearing from my fellow Aussie on our quarters – living rural it’s bushfire & SNAKE season! Another quick tip – if you find a planner you like & it’s an expensive one, look out for sale time a couple of months into the year & buy a few! You can cross dates out & focus on the days of the week.
Question – does the fact that the Hobonichi is in Japanese bother you? I wish there was an English version!
There is an English version! They started selling it a couple of years ago. It doesn’t come in the avec though (6m at a time). I actually prefer the Japanese as it feels like more of a blank canvas to me and it’s also what I’m used to.
