Happy birthday! Our anniversary is the day before your bday so I will always associate the 2 milestones together going forward. I was born in 81 so just behind you! Your stage of parenting does sound GREAT. We are still very much in the weeds/trenches and challenged on a daily basis although in a different way of course. I’m trying to enjoy the stages the kids are in, but I do feel like toddlerhood is just something to be “survived” as dramatic as that sounds. I can’t imagine ever looking back on this stage with anything but relief that it’s over! My 6yo is still very very cuddly – I know that will eventually go away but it seems to last longer than I thought it might. I’m trying to soak up the funny things my toddler says like when I was trying to get the toddler to poop recently (that’s been a tricky part of potty training) and he told me he couldn’t because his poops were “napping”.

I’m wishing you the best of luck at your marathon this weekend and can’t wait to track you! The cooler, less humid temps are going to feel AMAZING! You’ll probably be cold! Ha.

I understand the ‘survival’ feelings. There were sweet memories but I’m absolutely glad to be beyond it! I think you will love the school age years, and you’re really getting close! I feel like when everyone is 4+ things really change a lot.

Im replying to your question about the age of your listeners. I’m 20 years older than you so probably one of your older listeners. You are in the golden age of parenting. Grade school is awesome when they can go things with you and enjoy being with you. Of course I’m enjoying my kids a lot now that they are adults too.
