1- The weather was the tiniest bit less oppressive yesterday and it made me think of fall. I was thinking “oh it feels nice and cool!” and checked my phone . . .
2- MY HOBONICHI PACKAGE IS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE TODAY! I didn’t share much about my order but it was kind of a wild ride. On launch night, the things I wanted kept showing up as sold out on the Hobonichi site, so I ended up panic buying 3 things from Jetpens. BUT I still wanted to order from Japan (in part to get the free special-edition pen – I collect them!) and was able to find a Weeks (in Japanese, but that’s fine with me) in the cover I wanted so I ordered that along with a slew of accessories (mostly stickers, but a couple of other things too).
It was a tiny bit anticlimactic to receive a package from Jetpens first, I’m not going to lie! But I am over the MOON excited about my 2027 system and how pretty and cute it all is. I will do an unboxing video (because why not) and share it all soon.
This is the first year in many that I did not order a Cousin — I’m liking my spacious spreads in an A5 MD notebook too much to go back right now! But I also feel like 2026 was a year I really came into my own with my analog system, USING everything really consistently and well.
(This was all in my Jetpens order. Some seem to have restocked but some are still appearing unavailable so I’m glad I pulled the trigger!)
3- Fall is FILLING UP. There’s just a lot of stuff with 3 busy kids (and 2 busy parents, really). BUT I am still greatly enjoying my little rituals: Weds evening pilates (followed by reading in the car before gym pickup), complete division of labor with driving featuring Gym Leg Days on Monday/Thursday, and just a lot of things up ahead on the calendar.
This is not without some frustration (example: just found out C has a bball game at the same time as School of Rock – can’t be in 2 places at once . . .) but overall the pieces are fitting nicely right now. I *could* see getting tired/burned out because it’s all just a lot but right now it’s fresh and feels doable. Hopefully can keep up the momentum for the next couple months and then can enjoy a little reset around winter break.

Oh, overcast skies and a nice, warm rain always give fall vibes… especially in Florida, I assume?
We were up in the triple digits here yetesrday with NO rain in sight.
That sounds like Happy Mail! I haven’t even though about planner stuff for 2027. Haha.
OOH! I want to see the UM game. One of the star players from our high school team last year is playing for them now. But we have a HS game tonight. If that gets rained out (I give it a 50/50 chance) I’ll see if I can watch UM.
I agree- our weather feels kind of… cozy?… when it rains. Upper 80s and overcast is better than 90s and sunny!
