(Creative Work & a very On-Stage day!)
I knew this day would be a little tight and am glad I got through everything I wanted to do!
It was a “drive the kids to school day”, followed by some admin stuff, some email, and a whole lot of “on stage” time! I had a podcast interview (for BOBW), a BLPA2.0 session (on airtight task management and you guys I was IMPASSIONED because I love this topic so much); and a Planning By Season Fall Check-In (always fun by this point in the year because I’ve gotten to know the group)!!
I also had a 5 pm Zoom to participate in (planning committee for upcoming Duke Med reunion; if anyone reading this is class of ’06 you should definitely come) AND a 6:30 pm Zoom on the college application process, though as it turns out they basically said there’s nothing we need to do in 9th grade other than encourage our child to do well in school, so that wasn’t too stressful.
I did make it to evening Pilates and a read-in-the-car session that felt like a reward, picked A up from gym and capped off the night slicing like 2942 strawberries for a party in G’s class today and then reading with her (2 more chapters of On the Banks of Plum Creek). (C had a fairly late bball practice so both Josh and I were out driving late. Ahh well.)
We had one hiccup in that G broke her glasses at school (and she has special Stellest lenses). BUT, the lenses were thankfully okay AND she has an extra pair of non-Stellest (regular) glasses, so this wasn’t an outright emergency. I actually attempted to buy a replacement frame but the office was closed on Weds – how about that!
I made the most of my failed errand and picked up some library holds.
I was pretty tired by the end of this day, not going to lie! Presenting to groups online takes a lot of energy. I love doing it, AND I’m exhausted afterwards.
I would say that overall this has been a Fairly Typical Week (no travel, no call) but with more Evening Busyness than usual. There are weeks where we have nothing outside of the kids’ pickups (which is still a lot, but it’s just driving) but this week every night aside from Monday has had something sizable! Though weather is threatening to possibly alter tonight’s plans . . . we will see. I guess you will all find out tomorrow 🙂
