announcements
ahh, think back to high school. remember those all-important ‘announcements’ broadcasted in crackly lo-fi over the PA system each morning? things like, “tryouts for the production of guys and dolls will be held in the auditorium at 3:30 today!” or “the french club will be hosting their annual macaron-only bake sale today” (okay, not really).
hmm, it seems so archaic. maybe this practice has been replaced by an email or tweet! i’ll have to ask one of my patients.
oh my GOD i am old.
anyway. so onto the announcements! i’ll save the best for last. (don’t get TOO excited. this is not like jessica‘s recent announcement).
#1: introducing the breakfast challenge
i wrote about being in a food rut a few weeks ago. thumbing through my new cookbook, i was impressed with a number of interesting breakfast ideas. and yet,
day in . . .
and day out,
i pretty much eat the same variations on a theme. a tasty, but very repetitive theme. i would like to change this! as much as i enjoy this breakfast, i think i would appreciate some variety if i could just bring myself to make something else in the wee hours (i eat breakfast ridiculously early).
so next week i am going to explore the world of more exciting morning meals with a breakfast challenge! there are only two rules in this game.
a) i have to eat something different for breakfast each day
b) only one day out of the seven may be a variation on my standard theme
i am excited! of course, i have many of my favorite food blogs to turn to for inspiration in addition to my cookbooks. i think this will be fun and i will be sure to share the hits & misses of the week.
announcement #2: home is where the heart is
i am going to take part in the apartment therapy 20/20 home cure! unofficially, though, because signup is closed. basically, this is a 20-day program promising apartment bliss (and maybe inner peace?) at the low, low price of just 20 minutes a day.

For me, breakfast routine is a plus. I'd be lost without my daily "bolaCheerios"!

In 2011, I plan to get married!!! (oh, and graduate with my masters….and move to a new state….you know, just a few minor plans)
I am planning a wedding!!!!! :)…to a man named Josh and well…clearly you know how wonderful that is!
I'm planning on finishing my masters in May 2011 — working full time and getting my masters degree has completely zapped my free time and I'm ready to get it back!
in 2011 I would like to run another half and full marathon and PR both of them. I would also like to improve my yoga practice.
I'm actually reading your blog while my high school students (I'm a Biology teacher) are listening to the morning announcements! They have definitely improved in quality. The TV production class puts on an impressive newscast, and the students then watch a national news program for high school students.
Oh! And in 2011 I plan to start (seriously) saving for a home (so sick of renting!)
I'm planning to graduate college with a Fire Science degree!!
i am totally going to try and do the 20/20 home cure!

Hi Sarah! New reader here – great blog! In 2011, I plan to start a masters program.
In 2011, I already have a long list (that I'm secretly already starting on…shhh don't tell) but the most exciting thing would be that I'll be graduating (finally) in May with a dual major in engineering (mechanical and electrical) Woop Woop!! Another just as exciting thing I'm planning is to start my own blog. I already have a ton of ideas for it that I've been scribbling on blank printer paper, so an organizer like this would be soooo helpful! 🙂

Planning on selling our little Houston home and move my husband, three kids, two dogs, and one fish to Charlotte. Wish me luck!

In 2011, I am planning to run my first marathon! I haven't nailed down exactly which one yet, but I've already started a rough draft of a training plan and I WILL cross that race distance off my to-do list 🙂
In February 2011 my daughter and I will be running the Surf City Half Marathon together! We are training together long distance–she is currently a student at UCLA and I live in Tennessee. This will be her first half marathon and I am so excited that she wants to run it with me!

First let me just say that I perused your blog and gathered all the great tips I could. I liked your planner book layout so much, I tried to emulate the layout on a simple notebook. It may not be the fanciest but it works. And later I came across this giveaway, I really hope I can win one.
