we had a rather non-traditional valentine’s day this year, partly because my sister is visiting from france and it’s hard to get all smoochy at the dinner table when there are 3 people sitting there. i didn’t mind this at all; we tend to have rather non-traditional valentine’s days anyway. our usual ritual (performed twice thus far, but alas not this year) consists of drinking a lot of champagne and making french toast. and last year, instead of a card, i made a powerpoint presentation.
however, even with all this breakage from tradition, there were still beautiful roses waiting for me this morning (not red but orange!). i am a very lucky girl.
