it hasn’t happened until today, but i know it will happen again — the dreaded cell-culture contamination. i went to split my cells today after a 3 day hiatus from lab and — cloudy, murky nastiness awaited me in 2 out of 5 of my lines. i’m just hoping that the funk doesn’t spread to the other 3. contamination makes you feel dirty, like you’ve done something wrong (and probably, i did — but who knows what!?). a pipet tip that brushed over an unclean surface, or a jar of media gone rancid — who knows. nast.

since i highly doubt most people look at my running blog, i’m going to be redundant and mention that i’m planning to tackle a marathon in 5 weeks. can it be done? i don’t know, but i’m going to find out. after several long runs (over the next few weekends), i think i’ll know the answer. i don’t expect to finish in any sort of good amount of time, but i hope to just, uh, finish. we’ll see . . .
