wild country

for the first time ever outside of a zoo or other, uh, captive environment, i just saw a snake. it slithered all S-like (at an impressive clip) from the driveway and into the grass as i went to check the mail. it wasn’t huge or anything; it was greenish and striped vertically. it didn’t bother me much, but it makes me wonder how many more are out there living in our backyard.
