history in the making

ALL RIGHT! when i went to bed, none of the results were in. after having very odd and vivid dreams about obama leading a discussion class about asthma in which i got to sample an albuterol inhaler, i awoke to the exciting news this morning — WE WON!!!

even NC (at this point, still ‘too close to call’) might have gone blue.
for the first time in a while, i feel proud of our country.

i also feel #(*$#& EXHAUSTED. i can’t believe i’m already on call again today! the good part is that once i make it through this call, i don’t have to be in the hospital again until sunday, because my program has graciously let me obtain coverage so that i can interview at UNC on friday! i am excited to bring out my interview suit from 2 years ago and get a taste of what my life might be like once i am no longer taking 30 hour shifts in the NICU.

workout: 6 miles of intervals while watching early election coverage. at this point, only the earliest results were in, and cnn was making me nervous!
– 1 mile warmup @ 8:57/mi
– 6 x 1000m — twice at 7:41/mi, twice at 7:48/mi, twice at 7:53/mi paces, with 0.18 mi recovery in between each
– 0.25 mi cooldown

reading: nope, i was way too busy refreshing cnn.com!
