bacon-wrapped bacon

January 31, 2009

it may be 26 degrees right now, but at least the sun is out and should remain so for the rest of the weekend! it’s been quite a gloomy stretch of days here in NC and i for one am ready for some rays.

this week was sort of weird — i felt really tired all the time, and i’m still wondering if it is all just a prodrome to some virus that is coming my way. no runny nose or anything yet, though, so i will definitely hope for the best! after being all pumped up for my run yesterday, it turned out to be one of the worst. runs. ever. despite being equipped with great music and a new runner’s world, i only made it 5 of my planned 8 miles, and the moderate 8:19 tempo speed felt like sprinting to me. after 2 days of rest, it just didn’t make much sense. hopefully today’s attempt will be better.

plans for the day!
☑ laundry
☑ vacuum apartment
☑ clean out fridge
☑ make roasted chicken with carrots for dinner (& leftovers)
☑ errands: bank, dry cleaners, tailor
☑ pay bills
☑ take out recycling
☑ re-attempt 8 mile run
☑ weights x 20 minutes
☑ work on morning report presentation for next week

it is so amazing to have the time to do all of these things. i will never take weekends for granted.

lostandallalone, part 2
so i totally agree with everyone — i want to change this site’s name. i think i’m also going to lose the ‘blogspot’ part of the url. but i’m still not sure what i want to change it TO! available names that i am thinking of so far include:

pedsrunner.com
pedsinperspective.com
pedsliving.com
sarahsanatomy.com
theshubox.com
(shu = my initials)
pedsinbalance.com
pedsnotebook.com

again, any thoughts? i liked the suggestion of including medicine / cooking / running, but i am having trouble fitting all of those things into a concise, easily-readable site name.

1.30.09 oh wow, is january really almost OVER?

workout: 5 miles at speeds ranging from 8:19 to 8:57. as i mentioned above, the whole thing felt like torture. i am hoping for a better experience today!

cuisine: our “unique brazilian dining experience” at chamas was fun because i got to catch up with some friends i hadn’t seen for a while, but the cuisine aspect of it was just okay. and honestly, i just have no desire to eat nearly enough to make these kinds of places worth the price. i will admit that the bacon-wrapped filet mignon i had was delicious. although i would argue that bacon-wrapped anything is delicious. i learned last night that there’s even bacon-wrapped bacon.

flossing: woo-hoo, day 30! CHECK.

pedsrunner.com is the best out of the list, imo.

    what about: docrunnerfoodie, or pedsrunnerfoodie?

I vote for theshubox.com or sarahsanatomy.com! I love both of them!

My vote is for pedsinbalance because as far as I can see, that’s exactly what you are attempting to do and will be attempting to do for your whole life, regardless if you replace interests along the way (ex. running).
