laughing is good for you

January 7, 2009

good morning! today is call #2 / 6. i have high hopes that it will be much more pleasant than call #1, because

a) the census is lower
b) no heart babies!!!!!
c) i’ll have 3 residents to relieve me tomorrow instead of one, and i should be out of there earlier than last time!

even if it is hectic, i plan on continue working on focusing on one thing at a time. i’m on with a really nice fellow, too, so i know she will help me out if things get too crazy.

because i don’t have much more to say, i will leave you with these awesome test answers from an email my dad sent me entitled how to fail with dignity. i am usually not much for forwards, but i laughed out loud at these!

physics

math

chemistry

more chemistry

and the best — or worst — one of all . . .

——————————————————————–

1.6.9

workout: 6 miles, 0.5% incline, average pace 8:58/mi while reading february’s runner’s world. i alternated between speeds of 9:13/mi, 8:57/mi, and 8:41/mi.

+ 20 minutes weights:
– pushups, 2 x 10
– squats to overhead tricep press, 12 lb weight, 2 x 12
– bicep curls, 12 lbs each hand, 2 x 10
– seated rows, 45 lbs, 2 x 12
– walking double lunges, 8 lbs each hand, 2 x 10
– ball plank-to-tuck for abs, 2 x 12

flossing report: yep!

reading: 20 minutes (again) on management of traumatic brain injury.

doin’ time: another martha-led success! if it wasn’t for my cookthrough, i am not sure i would have selected a recipe like cod with fennel and potatoes. but it was great — homey, healthy, and filling. i used celery instead of fennel (whole foods — you disappointed me by having no fennel!), but it was still good. served with steamed snap peas and a whole wheat oatmeal roll.

    Love the test answers.
Your dinner looks great. I hate it when I can’t find an ingredient!

Sarah, I love the last cartoon!
And I agree w/ you. I just love when you can tell from someone’s blog that you might actually be friends in real life

So sad about your friend! Mine moved to Arizona and now I am in N.J.!
I know you have family in the areaa (I think? or in Philly?) so maybe
one day we’ll get to meet up and you can dazzle me with your doctor
    and running knowledge.
