have i mentioned that i love weekends?
i had another good and productive day yesterday. it is amazing what can be accomplished in a whole 2-day weekend! most notably, i cleaned, powered through 20 miles of running (between saturday and sunday), and got most of the research/reading done for my presentation on wednesday. no actual powerpoint slides have been created as of this point, but it shouldn’t be too hard to just go through what i’ve read and lay it out in some sort of organized fashion. or at least i’ll keep telling myself that.
i don’t have much else to report. um:
■ we didn’t go anywhere to watch the superbowl, because josh was too tired (seriously, you don’t know tired until you have seen ‘i’m-too-sleepy-for-the-superbowl’-tired).
■ we’re still obsessed with st. elsewhere.
■ this week is week 2/4 of behavior and development, and it doesn’t look too horrifically taxing.
■ i am greatly enjoying the ability to work out in the mornings and chill at night. although the aforementioned presentation is going to take some of the chill out of the next couple of evenings.

i’m still working on the whole blog name thing! thank you all for your helpful suggestions. josh came up with ‘shufetish’ yesterday which i really like . . . but unfortunately that domain name is taken! i am leaning towards ‘theshubox’ but i’m not totally sure. i figure that since i’ve gone this long with a suboptimal name, i have plenty of time to think about alternatives.

workout: 12.2 miles on the tobacco trail at a super-relaxed pace (average = 9:33/mi). i forced myself to take this run very slowly because i was a little nervous about cramming 20 miles into two days (very weekend warrior!). it was a fun run because i ran into a friend midway through, and the weather was beautiful. i ditched my gloves/hat 20 minutes in!
i followed up with some easy stretchy yoga.
weekly totals: 30 miles run, 40 minutes elliptical, 2 x 20 minutes weights, and 1 x yoga
monthly totals: 123.3 miles for january. definitely less than i used to run at one point, but so far i’m not injured. and that is GOOD.
doin’ time: okay, no martha recipe last night. we had been planning on going out for the superbowl to watch the game at a bar with big screen tvs (we still don’t have any kind of tv at home — i know, we’re weird) but josh was too tired. seriously, i tried to wake him up multiple times and it just failed and when i finally did, he had no interest in going anywhere. i tried to keep my glee hidden (i was sort of dreading the whole superbowl thing but had been fully prepared to suck it up for his sake) and then made a version of heathy bar food at home: veggie burgers, served on a whole wheat english muffin with melted jarlsburg, plus baked fries and red pepper strips. accompanied by the all-important whole foods store brand ketchup. YUM!
reading: 1 hour+ spent collecting and reading articles on acute disseminated encephalomyelitis for my presentation

We need to meet up for a run one of these days!
Shufetish is an awesome blog name. Sucks that it’s taken. I’m personally offended for you.
Sometimes all I want is a veggie burger on an English muffin with sweet potato fries.
I just read that you are changing the blog’s name. I don’t have any suggestions, but I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
How about “ShUEatsGourmetShootsandRuns”?
how about “falling asleep in your spaghetti tired”
