sunrise biscuit kitchen!
what could be better post-call than a fluffy egg and cheese biscuit from the supersouthern, superpopular, superlocal biscuit joint down the street from our apartment?
that’s right. the answer to that is . . . nothing.
after this delicious brunch, i passed out for 4 hours. definitely an ideal post-call day. again, my call night was not fabulous. i did not impress myself (or anyone else, probably) with my positive attitude this time around, but i still think i took good care of the patients. next time will be a chance to do it with a smile!
summer cinema
i was just realizing there are a ton of movies i want to see right now! josh and i have decided in addition to furniture shopping/apartment therapy, we are going to go movie-crazy on our staycation (in october). current movies on my list include:
☆ harry pottter 6
☆ the hangover
☆ bruno
☆ food, inc
☆ my sister’s keeper (probably cheesy, but the subject matter is interesting to me!)
☆ 500 days of summer
☆ whatever works
☆ moon
several of these have great reviews, and others just okay reviews (at least according to rotten tomatoes) but i want to see all of them. some of them may be relegated to our netflix queue, but that’s okay. i am just as happy — maybe happier! — watching an older movie in bed (often in multiple chunks) as i am sitting in an overly air conditioned theater. speaking of which, josh and i are going to watch another 30 minute installment of the wrestler. so far my assessment is: gory but good.
good night!

workout: 5 miles pre-call at ??? pace because my footpod ran out of batteries. i am guessing my pace was somewhere between 8:30 and 8:45, though. the run felt good.
reading: the june issue of contemporary peds in its entirety, plus some articles for senior notes i had to write on our admissions.

I really loved Food, Inc. Well, love is an odd word for a documentary about how messed up the food industry is, I guess.
I agree with you about DVDs vs. movie theaters. I saw HP6 last week, and the theater was so cold I thought I'd see my breath!! Speaking of DVDs, have you seen Gran Torino? It's a wonderful little movie!

Sunrise ahhhh brings back memories! I lived a hop skip and a jump from there senior year (right on Franklin) but honestly I was never a fan. Why? Because the cheese was never melted!!
I'm a melted cheese snob.
But your biscuit looks completely yum and makes me want one right now.
