the mall beckons
flowers are blooming, the threat of pollen is starting to rise, and my spring wardrobe needs help. i am looking forward to going shopping this season for some pieces that work now (rather than continuing to play the in limbo/waiting game).
my goal is to choose pieces that would work equally well in clinic and out to dinner. as always, i doubt that i’ll bite on many of these items before they hit the sale section, but it’s always fun to have them in my cart for price-cut stalking! and they also may serve as inspiration — as in, i’ll know what to look for at a store that better fits my budget [ie: gap or ann taylor loft].
outer layers
so vibrant and fresh! the light as air pullover, $78
i could see this being super-comfy in clinic OR at the grocery store. borrowed boyfriend cardi, $78
i think this tepore cardigan is absolutely beautiful. $98
spring tops
confession: i already bought this one! a bit unruly top, $48
the gathering tank comes in my color and looks like it would accomodate curves. $48
sadly, the taking turns top is already gone in many sizes, so i doubt it will hit sale. $68
there is just something striking about this laissez-faire top, $78
the lower half
i am committed to buying at least one pair of red pants this season. worker bee trousers, $98
convergance skirt. need i say more!? $78
putting it together
i’ll take one of everything, please. outfit here
orla + anthro — be still, my heart. sustainable sunflowers bag, $258

♥ really, i just want to share with you the best budgeting post ever, if you haven’t seen it already! here’s kath’s take on managing the family finances. i LOVE her system and plan to tweak mine to be closer to this one. (just picture a little notebook in place of the smartphone, though!)
♥ i liked simple mom‘s post about creating a family mission statement. i plan on writing one for us, and will post it monday.

workout: 30 minute run. i actually did NOT hit my yoga mat up last night — my arm was oddly sore (better today!) and baptiste recommends one day off per week, anyway.
2 for 1:
moroccan chickpea salad + dr. krackers
i actually threw this moroccan chickpea salad together on wednesday night — i figured i might as well batch all of the chopping and cleanup. i can’t say this was the world’s most exciting meal, but it was another healthy + tasty dinner that will provide lots of great lunch leftovers.
meditation: again, 5 minutes x 2. although i think this is getting even harder as the novelty is wearing off! my mind was wandering like crazy, but again — trying not to just and just BE.
excavation question:
when in your life are you fully present? in your job? with your partner or kids? when you am working? when you are playing? when you are alone?
