I received my second Trunk Club shipment last week. Because this month has just kind of been terrible, I didn’t even open it for 3 days. Then it was like pulling teeth to get Josh to take pictures (in his defense: he was sick with what in retrospect was probably the flu. And therefore not into such frivolities.)
I was running out of time before the “return trunk” deadline. I believe you can still return unworn/tags on merch after that deadline, but I didn’t want my card to be charged for the whole haul. Anyway, I took my trunk to work yesterday and convinced my (very nice and actually very into the whole thing!) coworker to take pix. She also offered suggestions and I polled the office, and then brought the pix to Josh. SO — the trunk is already boxed up and ready to go. Still, I wanted to share the loot. I included sizes this time around just in case they are helpeful. I am (okay fine 0.25″ less than) 5’1″ and have discovered that hey, most of the time I really am better off in petite sizing. Probably should not have taken 35 years to figure that one out, but better late than never.

Nice choices, I really love that striped dress, the purple dress, and the jeans. I have figured out that spending good money on fabulous jeans is one of my Secrets to Happiness.. I think that stripe, tie front, top will be great for dates and ladies nights out! Even though you didn’t keep that blue pleated blouse, you really look fabulous in cobalt blue (Duke blue, perhaps?). In fact, anything jewel toned really suits you! I like the idea of statement necklaces, but have yet to acquire any. I tend to prefer small pendants on short chains.
Maybe I’ll do Trunk Club next year!
Yay! So fun! I LOVE the green stripe dress! I guessed right on every item except the tie-front top, you surprised me there! Would be super cute with high or mid-rise jeans. Why are all the work shirts they sent so meh? I like the concept of the twistback top (would work great with a strappy back bra) but the print was sort of cheesy. Everything you kept was at a reasonable price point, too.
You are so tempting me to try this but I need another dress like I need a hole in the head, so I’m going to resist. I’m 5’3" and depending on the brand, I also have to wear petite sizing, so of course you do! (my mom is 4"11" and my sister is 5’1" so I’m just used to bee-lining for the petite section in stores, I guess!)
LOVE the ponte dress like everyone else, too!!! Agreed with all of your decisions except I really really like the Vince pleat front sleeveless blouse—love the fit but the color *is* a little meh so I’d want it in a different color.
I’m a good 3.5 inches shorter than you and it took me until age 32 to make a rule for myself that I had to only buy petite sizes in everything other than very casual t shirts/ tank tops. They’re all just so much more flattering.
Also–I know you shop Madewell but just wanted to share that my all time favorite jeans ever are the skinny skinny crop. The inseam is PERFECT for me and the fit is just so flattering. I think I’m a bit curvier than you are so you might have to get their tiniest size but I just love them!

I like your dresses starting on the v-neck blouse and down. I think you look better in a two-piece dress so you will look tall. and also if with prints better if not with bold prints that will supersede your whole body. fabulousafter40.com/polka-dot-clothes/
