Back to (sort of) normal, and some links

July 26, 2019

Our nanny was thankfully able to work Wednesday, Thursday, and (most likely) today, and while she will be out for 1-2 weeks soon, we have a better backup plan in place (the other semi-retired nanny that I previously mentioned is available and we’ve worked with her before).

Whew.

Having reliable coverage for this crew = essential for any degree of sanity during the work week!

Josh and I are definitely still staying home this weekend, but we managed to recover our hotel costs, rental car costs (minus $50), and the plane ticket situation was better than I thought: we had spent about $1100, and will get about ~$700 back in vouchers to use within the next year. The $200 fee wasn’t per leg like I thought, it was per ticket — not too terrible. We also had concert tickets (Red Rocks!) and they are up for sale.

We have an early date night set up for Sunday night to have some much needed together time sans kids, and we will be including a mini financial/life planning summit as part of this date, which is long overdue.

I’m feeling much more at peace today.

There have been some great blog posts as of late! Some links for your afternoon coffee break, late night nursing entertainment, or what have you:

You shared several links that I plan to read on this quiet Friday! Do you have a setting in your blog where links can open up in a new window? I think that’s ideal so your current blog post remains open when we open links you share. Just a suggestion! 🙂

So glad your nanny was able to help out this week and that your plane ticket cancellation wasn’t as expensive as you thought it might be. Huge bummer that you had to cancel the trip, though! 🙁

Ooh not sure about a feature like that! I didn’t know such a thing was possible, but will investigate! I usually just hit the control button when I click links so they open in a new tab.

What concert were going to? That’s a bummer but at least you got most of the money back and still get to go out Sunday.

John Prine at Red Rocks 🙂 josh is a fan.

Bummer. Awesome venue. Hopefully you’ll get to go later.

I was just looking for tix for an upcoming Red Rocks show (we live in Denver) and saw that the Josh Prine concert was postposted until September! Maybe you can come out then 🙂 https://www.redrocksonline.com/events/detail/john-prine-with-the-colorado-symphony

Wait seriously ?!?!?! Omg!!!!!! At the very least this probably means we can get a refund!

I was just coming here to say that! Happened to see the announcement on the Insta of I’m With Her… who I think was supposed to open for him? It says you can get a refund.

I hope you can reschedule! Pretty much my only “bucket list” concert goal is seeing a show at Red Rocks. I was there once during the day and it was pretty spectacular, even with nothing going on at the venue.

We are definitely going to do this trip but I think it will be next summer. We will do something local this summer / early fall.

And yeah I was excited for I’m With Her more than John Prine but Josh really likes both

Love the raptitude link. Yay for being real and not caring about clicks.

Things so much better today. Daughter less sad about AP leaving, have good cases today and a weekend off with fun planned. Things are looking up. Glad you’re wading through childcare hell relatively unscathed.

Oooh I would LOVE to see a concert at Red Rocks! We always visit when we’re in the area but have never been to a show there!
