Weekend

Another Solo(ish) Saturday

October 24, 2020

Currently, Josh and I have call schedules that are approximately 1:3 and 1:9 respectively (I know – I’m lucky). This means, out of a 52-week year:

17 weekends are J-call weekends

6 weekends are S-call weekends

= 23 weekends total out of 52. Not bad!

When I was on call more frequently, I used to try to take them at the same time as Josh, and we would make sure to have childcare. Now that they are less frequent, it seems reasonable to stagger.

After all, we still get 29 weekends as a family uninterrupted by clinical duties each year.

All that said — I’m definitely the Parent In Charge this weekend.

TODAY:

❏ Workout – BB Dirty 30 (old tried & true fave)

❏ Possibly Buttterfly World (with A’s BFF & her twin). Morning weather looks decent. Afternoon thunderstorms predicted as per usual. COME ON FL “WINTER”!

❏ Home for G’s nap. She skipped the nap yesterday and was truly a nightmare child from ~2p – bedtime. I am going to do everything in my power to encourage one today.

❏ Redo nails (it’s dire)

❏ Read more of I’d Give Anything (my first Marisa de los Santos)

❏ ~1 hr of work email catchup. Sad but probably necessary.

❏ TAKE OUT NIGHT!

I will leave you with today’s planning page in the Amplify — I am thinking of moving (yes already) but this was a fun system to use temporarily.

That planner looks really great. But I have a hard rule about no spiral/coil binding. Maybe I need to rethink that….

I definitely want to try Cal Newports planner, though I do wonder if pandemic is the right time to do it given minimal childcare/school

I’m looking forward to your review of Wonderland 222 – right now I’ve just got a blank Leuchtturm notebook that I use as a sort of bullet journal in combination with some digital tools, but I’m strongly leaning toward ordering Wonderland’s planner/daily notebook combo for 2021z

Marisa de los Santos has the most beautiful writing! I’m envious that this is your first – I’ve binged them all and cannot wait for whatever she writes next. Highly recommend the Love Walked In trilogy!
