I have been writing down 3 things I am grateful for every day, and I almost never struggle to come up with at least 3. I will admit there are some repeats, though.
Here’s a list of more than 3 just because it’s Thanksgiving. We will be having an intimate little holiday but I am still excited for the family time.
I am grateful for . . .
Josh and the kids, their health, and just their existence in my life. By far the luckiest and best part.
FaceTime and video technology so that I still have conversations with my sister and parents that feel intimate even though they are far away. And I can almost feel like I’ve met my niece.
A job that I love 98% of the time. And as a bonus, earns a decent amount of $. I feel grateful when I think about my hourly pay for what I do.
Coworkers that I generally enjoy being around.
Being part of a podcast that is 3 years running and still fun to make!!
Our weather, from Nov – April.
The enormous array of stationery and planning products out there!!! Makes my little hobby so much fun.
BOOKS. And the library. And specifically the Broward County library and its fairly vast network for holds and easy to navigate systems (plus shout out to the Davie/Cooper City branch location on my way home from work).
The apps that I use to make my life better: Google maps, YNAB, DuoLingo, Headspace, and the fact that I always have a camera/video recorder easily accessible
My college friends (still in close touch as a lovely group of 6, with regular Zooms during this pandemic in lieu of a trip together!). Also, generally my college experience (which means gratitude towards my parents who paid for it)
My fairly large and crazy extended family — both my side & Josh’s. Meeting him (and the family!) at age 22 means that his family members basically feel like my own, and it’s quite a bunch.
The hope of a COVID-19 vaccine (or several) on the horizon, even though it will probably take a while for it to reach enough people to make a difference in daily life. Knowing that we might be able to look forward to a physically-together Thanksgiving in 2021 makes me happy.
Netflix. Spotify. The internet.
You!! And the fact that this blog exists and has existed for so long. Thank you for reading / listening / commenting / generally being there to make this little corner of the internet a very fun and fulfilling and probably lifelong project for me. I am truly grateful.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m also grateful for your blog and your authenticity in sharing your life with us.
Thanks for this list, Sarah! I’m also grateful for this space and the community around it. Have a great holiday,
Just shared your list with my sixteen year old daughter Sarah and she loved it. I would add crisp, frosty English mornings, the IT and rest of the support team at my firm enabling me to work from home seamlessly throughout the pandemic, my husband doing all the online grocery shopping for the past 8 months, and your amazing and inspirational blog posts pinging into my inbox roundabout 11 a.m. UK time every day, just in time to be enjoyed with my “elevenses”! Happy Thanksgiving!
great post! thanks for being real and authentic!
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m also grateful for this blog and look forward to reading it every day. Love your planning podcast.
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m also grateful, among many things, for your blog posts to enjoy with my morning coffee – I actually “save” them to read a day late so that I’ll have the previous day’s post to read when I’m waking up over here in Italy. Your voice puts an inspiring and positive spin on the start of my day and I really appreciate it!
