I felt pretty terrible yesterday! This is not a complaint but an observation. I was grateful to be feeling like *&@# post-vax. But it still didn’t make yesterday super-easy.
At work they mentioned getting the shot on a Friday so we can therefore rest while the side effects take place. Heh. Apparently they have not experienced a weekend at my house (esp during a Josh Call weekend, which is currently happening). “Restful” isn’t exactly the first descriptor that comes to mind . . .
That said — I feel 90% normal today so — yay!
Yesterday’s fun included soccer (Cameron), a BB chest/back workout (so I wasn’t dying THAT much), takeout burgers, a couch nap while G watched PBS kids, and a zoom gingerbread house/cookie decorating party w/ the residents.
I didn’t stay on the whole time but it was cute getting together virtually. Next year hopefully in person . . . though I will admit I’m having a hard time deciding whether I miss work gatherings/parties or not!
The kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly:
TODAY
✅ Run (as soon as I hit “Publish”)
✅ More soccer for C (while G & A hang out on the sidelines w/ me)
✅ Meal plan for next week / ?? grocery delivery vs go tomorrow after work . . .
✅ Planner spread for tomorrow’s BLP ep
✅ Address at least 10 New Years cards (ordered from Paper Culture for the second year in a row and they look great . . . just need to get them out)
✅ Laundry x 1
Also still pondering final goals for 2021.

A true upholder will work out even if they feel 10%. It’s what we do.
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s podcast! Grocery delivery for sure! Outsource what you can. Have a great week.
Yay for an immune response but boo for it happening on a solo parenting weekend. Glad you are feeling better today, though! The gingerbread decorating zoom sounds fun! I was planning to make and decorate sugar cookies with our 2.5yo but my mom made him some for Halloween and he didn’t like them!! Also did not like PB cups. Not sure how he is my son – ha!! So I skipped the cookies as I would have eaten allll of them. And while I am BF’ing, that’s a bit too much sugar!
I know you’re not saying this at all but did want to add for anyone hesitant about the vaccine side effects. I’m a few days into having covid (thanks, people that gathered at thanksgiving and sent their kids back) and the extreme fatigue and aches have been going on for multiple days. One or two days from the vaccine would have been preferable! Even without a severe case this is knocking us out.
Ugh I’m so sorry!!! I hope you feel better soon!
This weekend is my time to fill out my 2021 Hobonichi!!
I’m glad you’re mostly feeling better. One thing I was reflecting on, after speaking with my family, is how a lot of people are (hopefully??) understanding the difference between normal vaccine side effects and true allergies. It took a LOT of repeating myself to my folks though, and a lot of helpful YouTube videos. If anything, maybe this vaccine rollout will help spearhead better understanding about vaccines? At least for those who just have questions and aren’t rabid anti vax and anti science. I don’t know, maybe my mentor’s unflagging positivity is rubbing off on me…
