Yes, there are stressful and sad things going on in the world.

Yes, I have a number of projects currently going on.

No, I will never be ‘finished’ with everything (and you probably won’t, either . . . a nod to Oliver Burkeman on that one!)

DESPITE all that, I am going to take a break. I know I am very lucky to be able to do this, but it has not been easy! My first attempt was thwarted by COVID-related stuff, but this second attempt is going to be successful unless something happens in the next few minutes.

I am going on a ~48 hour trip to a beach resort (girls trip!), and I am going to:

a) relax

b) plan, scheme, organize (and think about next quintiles’ goals)

c) get good sleep

d) think about the big things I want to do in life

e) spend some time appreciating it all

It has been a challenging past few days, but I am pretty happy with how things went, as detailed in the last few posts. The kids have remained OFF of screens. My own recreational screen use has been quite low. I have been following the guidelines I set for myself in this post, and it has helped.

using the tiny A6 Hobonichi lately while playing with the Makselife (review coming in the next BLP!)

Enjoy! Are you no longer using the Full Focus Planner?

Hope you have a wonderful break and retreat. You deserve it!

Like you, I enjoy planning/goal setting, so I totally get why you would put those on a retreat agenda!

That said, it seems like a lot of pressure for a 48 hour weekend where you’re also having girl time. My advice: focus on A and C. Just decompress. The rest will happen some other time.
