Yes, there are stressful and sad things going on in the world.
Yes, I have a number of projects currently going on.
No, I will never be ‘finished’ with everything (and you probably won’t, either . . . a nod to Oliver Burkeman on that one!)
DESPITE all that, I am going to take a break. I know I am very lucky to be able to do this, but it has not been easy! My first attempt was thwarted by COVID-related stuff, but this second attempt is going to be successful unless something happens in the next few minutes.
I am going on a ~48 hour trip to a beach resort (girls trip!), and I am going to:
b) plan, scheme, organize (and think about next quintiles’ goals)
c) get good sleep
d) think about the big things I want to do in life
e) spend some time appreciating it all
It has been a challenging past few days, but I am pretty happy with how things went, as detailed in the last few posts. The kids have remained OFF of screens. My own recreational screen use has been quite low. I have been following the guidelines I set for myself in this post, and it has helped.
Enjoy! Are you no longer using the Full Focus Planner?
I have it nearby b/c I always seem to go back to it, but not currently in it!
Hope you have a wonderful break and retreat. You deserve it!
Like you, I enjoy planning/goal setting, so I totally get why you would put those on a retreat agenda!
That said, it seems like a lot of pressure for a 48 hour weekend where you’re also having girl time. My advice: focus on A and C. Just decompress. The rest will happen some other time.
That pencil pouch is everything, I keep forgetting to comment. Have fun!

I love it, the pattern makes me feel fancy!
Sounds fabulous – so glad it’s going ahead. Adult time with girlfriends plus planning retreat sounds like heaven to me. Enjoy!!!
Yay!!! Have fun!
Enjoy! I know from Laura’s post that you two are together! Have a fabulous, refreshing time!
