BLP Ep #104: Re-Air – Getting Through Tough Times

July 25, 2022

Thx COVID

I had wanted to record a joint episode with Josh about his planning routines (much more minimal than mine, but they exist!) and our couples planning, but . . . COVID. I had even brought my podcasting microphone on our trip!! Unfortunately, I was in no shape to record when this ep was due (fun fact – usually the Wednesday prior to air date). So, please excuse this re-run – it was one of the more popular episodes in recent months! And some of the mentioned tactics helped me this past week as well.

THE KIDS ARE HOME!

More on that later because it was a LATE night. But exciting! I am happy to have them back and they really had a wonderful time. Both kids want to return next summer (even though one kid came home on 2 meds for impetigo and 1 for conjunctivitis!) so I’m sending in my deposit. I guess we are officially a camp family. More pix tomorrow because as is his custom, C escaped my camera (just running around too much).

waiting for A&C!

I am working remotely today due to our health system protocol, but back in person tomorrow regardless of test status. Will be wearing these (slightly more tolerable than our hospital-issued N95 for me).

Finally, I feel pretty much over COVID and if I weren’t still testing positive I’d consider us past it! I ran 3 miles yesterday and it went decently (I did not come within 20 feet of anyone). Hoping for a negative tomorrow but yesterday I still had a super dark line so I am not sure it’s in the cards.

How exciting to be reunited! Iā€™m thrilled for the camp experience. Iā€™m considering sleep away camp for mine in the coming years. Will you / have you shared the name of your choice? Would love a recommendation as I research. Thanks! (And to anyone else with recommendations šŸ˜Š)

I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better and well enough to run.
It’s nice to hear your kids enjoyed camp. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Lovely that the kids are home and that they had a wonderful time!

You’ve inspired me to research some European camp options for a few years down the line. I think T might realy love it, he’d happily be outside all day everyday.

Love this ep! I actually downloaded it when it first aired and saved it; referring back to it recently when we hit a crisis/survival mode period. Great tips & it honestly really helped!

So glad that you are both feeling better! These COVID protocols are so confusing to me, they seem to arbitrarily change depending on the institution. So, your office has you see patients, even if you still are testing positive for COVID?

as long as I am wearing an N95 mask at all times. (Patients mask too but they choose whatever type they want).

I think the test darkness can change pretty rapidly. My line was pretty dark until day 8/even 9. Lighter morning of day 10 and then gone halfway through that day! It did take progressively longer to show up, though, which I took as a positive sign.
