Happenings:
G has gymnastics. I will be bringing the other two with me to spectate. Maybe I will try to get them to do a few pages of their school packets while there. I will be reading The Hotel Nantucket which is juicy + fun so far.
Back to school shopping. Tax-free shopping time! Probably at Target.
Back to school shopping for SHOES. Dare we attempt the mall? Maybe. Or DSW.
To Do:
❏ Order uniform shirts (after taking inventory of what we have . . . which is a lot but some of it is in poor condition)
❏ Order uniform bottoms (Gap / Lands End probably)
❏ Order groceries + meal plan
❏ Workout – a strength for runners on the Peloton app plus maybe 20-30 min yoga
❏ Think about / brainstorm August goals
Happy hot & summery Saturday!

Oh my goodness we get the Nike flex too for the 7-year-old and he managed to use a brand new pair to skid brake on his bike and tore up the front…every pair it is something!
I’m also reading Hotel Nantucket right now and loving it! Perfect summer read. I appreciate all your book recs! I have quite the list of holds at the library which should keep me occupied this fall.
I also have 3 school aged kids and struggle with the shoe shopping. I love the selection on Zappos, but I find it often takes several tries before I get the right size, fit, etc. I like DSW but find their selection lacking if I’m looking for a specific shoe that fits school guidelines. I was just thinking the other day that I might buy one of those contraptions to measure their feet at home instead of guessing based on their last pair of shoes.
Have a good weekend!
I bought one of the foot measuring contraptions and it one of my favorite household items. I got a cheap plastic one online, purchased in a time of desperation early in the pandemic. It is great. No more ordering several sizes! No more guessing at snow boot sizes! If my kids know what they want I can just order a single pair online and be done with it. Even ordering a couple of options doesn’t irk me as much when I know they’re the right size. Highly recommend!
I might have to do this!!!
I started reading American Royals after you mentioned it, so addictive and definitely a candy book but that’s all I am up for these days. Will have to check out some others from your recent reads!
I find bringing my 7 year old along for the younger ones activities Is fine but bringing the 4 year old to wait for the older one is painful for everyone..
This post is a nice reminder that school is fast approaching!! We love the flex sneakers too, and thus reminds me we are due for new ones. Enjoy your Saturday! We are headed to a picnic event in our local park later today. Live music and free food, plus kids can run wild = SCORE
How many sets of uniforms do you tend to have, Sarah? I have 6 tops, bottoms, and 3 sweaters but only because they were quite expensive, might try and pick some used ones.
T is also a destroyer of shoes. He needs plain black leather ones for school, and I give it a month before they are wrecked. I bought the adidas ones and we’ll see how they hold up, but it’s expensive and annoying.
I’m going through them now! Thankfully I’m finding a decent number of pieces that are still good for use this year. 5-6 per kid is good. Our uniforms are just t shirts or polos and solid bottoms (bottoms can be any brand) in certain colors. Plus a PE t shirt and field trip shirt.
That’s good. Ours are white, baby blue, or navy polos, with black or grey bottoms (any brand but not joggers). I got navy as we don’t wear enough whites to ever have a full load / I think they get dingy fast. It’s a public school so they keep it decently accessible to folks.
