Parenting Weekend

Here We Go!

September 24, 2022

Determined . . .

I am really hoping this weekend will be better than the last one. Josh is on call and I am not going to attempt much ‘hanging out at home’ time, though of course there will be some.

The kids are aware that iPad time will be minimal and seem overall okay with it. Last night I decided to simplify the media menu:

I made the list above in Canva (which Annabel urged me to use — she is much better at design than I am!) based on your recs and some lists on Common Sense Media as well as a couple of their faves (and HP#5 which is totally not Genevieve-appropriate but it’s the number we are up to). They picked Casper which I realized 10 minutes in was from 1995 and toooooootally dated but also kind of good. I loved Christina Ricci back then (Now and Then, anyone!?!?).

yes he has glasses. no he usually does not feel inclined to actually wear them.

Anyway, we had popcorn and it was cozy and everyone was in bed by 8:30, so I’ll call it a win!

Rest of the weekend:

  • 7 mile long(ish) run – done
  • Frost Science
  • the library!
  • park meetup
  • Urban Air?
  • din with family

Here we go! Will report back.

Lol, that picture of Cameron- that was 100% me at age 9/10 when I refused to wear glasses 😆 Good luck this weekend, sounds like you have a great plan!

Love that Annabel knows what Canva is already. Keep encouraging that creative spirit!

That weekend plan sounds wonderful! Very jealous. For me it’s: write grant all day today, 24h call tomorrow. 🙁 I promised myself I will run though, which will hopefully help.

I LOVED Now and Then. It was one of my favorites!

Highly recommend Harriet the Spy from the 90s! And it’s fall-ish too

NOW AND THEN! Yay! (Wish I could find the soundtrack on Spotify/Apple/etc. It was an awesome one…)
