Goals Planners

Oh hi September!

September 1, 2022

I have good feelings about this month. It will be a transitional one for me (my 0.6FTE position officially begins Oct 1, so there will be elements of wrap-up / handoff) but also lots of fun to look forward to as well as truly settling into school routines.

AND! I placed my Hobonichi order last night. There was a bit of a scare where I thought my cover of choice had sold out (probably got a little toooo emotional about that haha), but it returned and I am going to be watching the mail like a hawk for the next ~10 days (that is how long things have taken in years past!).

I will definitely share when it arrives!

Newsletter

My September newsletter is out! Check it out here, and hit “subscribe” on the upper left if you’d like to continue receiving these monthly notes. I included some ‘extra’ routine-related stuff in this one in honor of back to school season.

So exciting that you are going to DC! I love staying at Residence Inns since they all have a free breakfast. I’m good with oatmeal and fruit so I appreciate not having to find a breakfast place while traveling or paying for expensive oatmeal at Starbucks! It is not fancy of course, but it does the trick. They also seem to have reasonably priced suites which would be nice when traveling with family!

September is one of my favorite months of the year. It can be one of our best weather months of the year – lower humidity but still warm with lots of sunshine and cool mornings. And I love back-to-school season even though our kids aren’t in school yet. Next year our oldest will start, though, and he’s already talking about how excited he is to go to K.

yep, reasonable suites, easy breakfast, and marriott points . . . good combo 🙂 🙂

If it’s the DC/Capitol one it’s about a 5 minute walk from my house and it seems good (never stayed there but have been in the lobby). The location is great!

I was sooo excited to order my new Hobonichis for next year. I hope I like the English Cousin as much as the Japanese one. Like you, there was something non-stressing abou the pretty writing that I didn’t have to read/live up to.

I had a similar moment of “OH NO!” when I logged on at 10:47PM EST and realized the Weeks English version I had been hoping to get was sold out – my sadness new no bounds at that moment in time. I was able to buy it the next day (today) but not without it selling out a second time, and then restocking. My emotions were all over the place! It’s so nice to have something to look forward and I can’t wait to see what you selected!
