1- Call is . . . rolling along.
While Thursday evening is the midpoint of the week, I always feel like I’m ‘over the hump’ with call by Friday. The weekend just isn’t quite as stressful, particularly since I don’t have to get the kids to school so I can theoretically make up for a bad night by sleeping in a little.
I am probably jinxing myself with the above because it has actually been quite busy. But I can sort of see a light at the end of the tunnel!
2- I had an awesome run yesterday. 2 x 3 mi blocks and I felt really good. It was the first run in quite some time where I felt like — yep, my endurance and speed are improving. VERY slowly, but a little bit. I am excited to start working with a coach in March. I know there probably aren’t magical secrets I haven’t discovered already, but I am still holding out hope that I can get faster in my 40s (at least to a point!)
3- I found a dress! Okay, Lani found it for me. THANK YOU LANI! This was the 4th one I tried on (all ordered online, so 3 returns).

I can’t remember what you need a dress for but that one is VERY cute and fun!
Oh, are you swapping the shoes out for the high heeled cowboy boots the model is wearing?? 😜
Should I?
I think you can definitely pull it off.
I think it would look great and a bit edgy with a heeled bootie.
That dress is cute and I love that it has sleeves! I am always sooo cold, even at events in the summer since places always crank their AC up!
It’s great to feel like your endurance and speed are improving. Your hard work is paying off!!
Cute dress!
Perfect dress!
Cute dress! I’ve been thinking about hiring a stylist but hesitating bc I just don’t wear professional clothes that often but worry the clothes will be uncomfortable, or difficult to care for, or that I just won’t like them. I also feel guilty perpetually ordering and returning things and spending too much $$$, and never know what size to order anymore. I hate shopping so much!!
I am also so over wearing uncomfortable shoes. I’m going to try to get away with fashion sneakers at my next conference. Wish me luck!
FWIW, I am seeing many more fashion sneakers/comfortable shoes at conferences. I’m having to transition my shoe wardrobe over due to a plantar fascial tear and there are a decent number of options! I still wear heels when I give a platform talk (can’t help it; I like them!) but for just meeting attendance? LOTS of flats and sneakers with business casual attire, at least at the disease-specific conferences that I attend (~5k attendees, all realms of healthcare providers and researchers). Particularly at the European meeting that I attend…they seem to be a bit more casual overall. You can do it!
Nice pic!
That dress is amazing! You look great in it, and like you feel great in it. 🙂
That dress is fantastic!
inspired by your running journey. I too am hiring a coach and am excited about it
