I always get the best recs from you all, and the Shokz OpenRun Mini headphones (here; not affiliate) did not disappoint! I’ve worn them twice now, once for a speed workout and again today for an easier run and they sound great, stay on, and are NOT impacted by sweat like earbuds are (for me, anyway) so this is a huge win.
Wearing the headphones, I listened to the latest 10% Happier episode today on my run. The guest was Alexis Santos, a meditation teacher and Buddhist monk. He talked about awareness (something I am always interested in) and one other thing that resonated with me was asking the question: “Is it useful?”. It was helpful for me, though I know everyone needs to process things differently.
Lots of good things in in my life right now and I am going to focus on enjoying them, particularly BLP Live which is THIS WEEK! I kind of can’t believe that I can now say, “I run an annual planning conference” like it’s an official established thing. Laura and I are thinking about a possible West Coast option for next year (obviously no concrete plans yet, need to focus on this one first!), so stay tuned for that!
OHHHH and confession: I had to pay a kid $10 because I looked at Reddit!! (It had nothing to do with anything political, was something totally dumb!). But I did ante up and appreciate the motivator not to slide down the slippery slope. Oops.

Hilarious you felt your q5 post was a list of positive things. Wow. That post was obscenely stress inducing. You and I are totally different people.
Super interesting! Yeah the only stress inducing item on my list at all is my writing deadline, but I am grateful to have it. Well, and call 🙂 But I haven’t taken call since Aug so it’s def my turn.
Yep, I love and miss you! SESB

Your Greenlight pic reminded me I need to transfer $ to my daughter, too. I can’t remember if I heard of Greenlight from you or someone else, but it is working great for our family! I love the simplicity of it–I can see how much my kids have, I can send $ easily, they can invest, and I don’t have to pull out cash which is harder for them to keep track of (and many places don’t even take). Thank you for your consistently positive posts. I’m intentionally staying away from news, etc for the moment and enjoy staying connected to people putting out helpful content. I hope BLPA Live is great!! I hope to attend one sometime.
You would love it, we even have a (totally optional) run! (There is a walk too at same time and yoga the other morning!)
Ha ha, well you’re $!0 poorer, but wiser.
I’ve never tried Shokz, but I want to. I thought they were more expensive than this- these are reasonable!
I hope BLP Live makes it to San Diego county.
I can tell you go out of your way to not be political. I’m catching up on old BLP podcasts right now, as I need a break from my politics podcasts. I extra appreciate your more philosophic content that speaks to the part of me that has been brutally struggling with my mood in the last week. Going to try to live life more in the smaller ‘sphere’, and tune out the rest as I try to salvage my mental health.
Aww thanks so much Kelsi!!!
