In today’s monthly Q&A ep, I open with a great Planner Peace vignette. Then, I share 2 stationery shop recs and answer 4 listener questions.
Planner Peace for this episode comes from a healthcare provider who has cut her documentation time in half after reflecting and listening to my 2023 Efficiency Tips for Healthcare Providers ep! She uses Google products for almost everything, plus a daily paper planner (filled out fresh each day, referring to her digital lists!) for her schedule and tasks.
Stationery shop recs: Both in Chicago: Atlas Stationers and Paper and Pencil
Question topics:
1) Recommendations for Commonplace Books?
2) Where should I keep my annual goals (from a Full Focus user)?
3) Planner wall storage ideas for messy areas (kitchen!)?
(She ended up going with this one!)

4) Have you ever intentionally stepped away from planning for a time or season? (And if so – how does it work within the Nested Goals framework)?

I know they found something but a shout out for the Umbra invisible shelf. I’ve got a few in my office with my most frequently referenced books, and next to my bed with my TBR pile and notebook. For planners, I’d just put a bigger book at the bottom, and stack everything on top.
If they wanted to hold them open to see the weeks plan, a cheap plate holder would do the trick. https://a.co/d/gFUqdQ8
I wanted to offer my perspective (and empathy) to the listener who asked about intentionally stepping away from planning for a time or season, as I have needed to do this over the past year with my financial savings goals, which are currently on hold. Despite this, I still listed them as an annual goal in full detail, and then as an abbreviated monthly goal (“save, invest –> on hold”). This way, I remind myself of the goal, and give myself the encouragement that it’s on hold (and important!) vs. non-existent.
love that!!
I am expecting my first child in a few weeks and then will be on maternity leave through May, so I purposefully did not set annual goals yet this year other than short term things related to preparing. If anything my intention for the year is flexibility and to hold things very loosely! Any other tips are appreciated!
