Josh and I travel most years over Memorial Day weekend in honor of our anniversary. In lieu of prior plans to go back to Traverse City for the Bayshore Marathon (of COURSE they had the best running weather ever this year, lol), we decided to keep things super simple and head to Vero Beach.
Vero is just over 2 hours from our house and is peaceful, chill, and easy. This was my third time staying at Costa D’Este and I still love it! (We did stay at the neighboring Kimpton one year and it was fine, but not as good.)

We also did beach yoga (offered by the hotel and it was great, other than the 15 bug bites I managed to get), watched 3 episodes of Murderbot (how romantic I know but it was so good), got massages, did some planning together (yessss), and ate Kilwin’s ice cream. Basically a perfect getaway — less than 48 hours but the hours were great!
AND NOW back to reality and itchy bug bites. Oh, and I also tried taking a full dose of my beta blocker yesterday and it was a full on fail (basically felt drugged all day). But hey — I’m glad this is a nice long weekend! There may even be an impromptu Jenny sighting if things work out (since I’m headed up to her area).

I hope that the Jenny meetup works out. I’ve spent so much IRL time with bloggers in the past two weeks that I have gotten spoiled.

I was in Austin last week (an anniversary trip bolted on the front of a work trip). I picked up three mosquito bites the night before I left .. they turned into full on welts by the next morning. I told DH that I’m considering adding a “Bug Bite Thing” to the stuff that stays in my roller bag. It (a suction tool that draws out the insect’s saliva) makes a big difference if I use it soon after a bug bite. https://a.co/d/87dbkOy
Happy anniversary! (And happy birthday for last week!). Looks like a perfect mini-break. Hubby and I did a similar 48 hours beach break a couple of months ago and it felt luxurious. Glad you got some couple planning in there too. Hehe
