JUNE

I filled out my monthly calendar yesterday with color-coding: clinical days, non-clinical work days, and vacation. June features 5 full vacation weekdays (our NH trip!), 9 clinical days, and 6 non-clinical work days (only IF I count one Friday where I’ll be traveling and plan to work on the plane and for a bit during the day – so really, more like 5.5).
Not only that, but most of the nonclinical workdays also have some appointment smushed into the day, for 1-3 kids or myself. This makes sense because these are weekdays where I am flexible, so of course they attract these sorts of things. But it does limit my stretches of time for deep work!
AND SO, I am going to need to be really careful to keep up with my schedule. If I get behind, I will be in trouble — and I really want to enjoy time with family unfettered by work stuff! I have a plan and think I will be able to do it.
Because my main goal is really to keep up, I’m keeping other “extra” things kind of light, or things I was already excited about doing!
PERSONAL:
❏ Dive into summer reading list!
❏ Try fun summer writing experiment
❏ Try Club Pilates – never mind! This is not the month to start that, since my weekday time is so limited and most weekends involve travel. It’s possible I might start at the end of the month, but I think I’ll keep doing my current Peloton strength + yoga mix and table classes for July.
FAMILY:
❏ Have kids dive into + track summer reading
❏ Watch some fun movies together (OMG the kids and I watched 13 Going on 30 last night — all 3 of us were dying of how cringe-comedy it was, but then at the end at least 2 of us cried. I love Jennifer Garner!). I’m sure we will see the new Lilo + Stitch at some point.
❏ Get some 1:1 date nights with Josh (at least 2). One is already planned DURING our vacation so I am optimistic on this one!
CREATIVE WORK:
❏ Finish workbook edits (BLP Live, BLP at Home 2026, Planning by Season — I haven’t revamped these in a while and I’m excited for the new versions). These drafts will go to the designer at various points during the summer so we’ll be very much ahead of the game for fall!
❏ Stay on recording schedule
❏ Keep working on email management . . . (work in progress)
❏ Graphic edits (book)
❏ Prep midyear BLPA session
CLINICAL WORK:
❏ Start MOC4
❏ Leave for vac with an empty inbox (to be fair I generally empty it every week! But extra important to make sure no loose ends hanging before heading out for our trip)
HOME:
❏ Wardrobe declutter. SERIOUSLY. I might actually do this TODAY, the weather is gross and we are home for the next couple hours. I don’t have that many clothes so this is not even that hard of a task, I just need to DOOOOO it.
❏ Keep focusing on evening rhythms
❏ G/C clothing purse (will ask our nanny to help with this!)
LOOKING FORWARD TO (fun audit!)

I’m curious about what this “fun writing experiment” is going to be!
It’s so helpful to look at the month as a whole like this. My schedule is about 1/10th as complicated as yours, but it still felt good to sit down and fill out a calendar. June is the least busy month for us- July gets complicated.
Good luck with the closet- it’s pouring rain here and I was just about to leave for errands… sigh.
I’ve been meaning to post this for you as I’m a NH native (CT now) — where you are going is beautiful and one of my favorite places in the world. This is pretty funny and will give you a step up on how to pronounce Kancamagus Highway. 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX7nQrCgALM
ETA – Maybe it’s just funny to natives. It is beautiful.
I love the NH passion in the video!!! Ha!
I don’t even know how you have any clothes left to edit! You have so few clothes already and I feel like you just edited, didn’t you? Point is, you are in better shape than most! Just this humble fashion stylist’s opinion, haha. PS I just made you an inspo board for spring. Will send!
I’ve been curious about Club Pilates for a while so will stay tuned for an update on that! I’m behind on June planning (how is it June already?), but I’m excited to dive in, especially with a fun audit!
Sounds like a great (if full) month ahead. I’m about to blog about my June plans and you’ve reminded me I need to add some fun! I’ve started colour-coding my month view and I’m finding it so helpful too.
I did a bit of a wardrobe edit this weekend and added a few pieces. I have mostly been taking things out of my closet without replacing them so now I am try to add things back in.
Your goals for the month sound great! I need to figure out some details for my trip to Chicago with my 4yo. I have tickets for Shedd Aquarium but need to make a list of indoor and outdoor activities so we have options to choose from. Hopefully we can mostly be outdoors but the weather can be iffy! But this is a fun to do item!!
ooh yay for wardrobe edit! I ended up getting through a few shelves — one of those tasks that WAS NOT THAT BAD I just had to start 🙂 Helped me realize what I lack (sports bras, tops, casual shorts) and what I don’t need (leggings, jeans, Ts).
3 things I’m pumped about:
1. I see such a difference in your vibe since the Hopkins visit. I am so happy you are thriving.
2. I cannot wait to read your book! I love the organization of a book to guide you through a planning system. I have a harder time implementing things I learn on podcasts because I’m usually driving while listening!
3. It was such a pleasure to meet you at Hopkins. You have a gift for authentically connecting with others. Thank you for all you do for your patients, trainees, and blog/podcast/Patreon communities.
THANK YOU! Given #2 definitely don’t get the audio 🙂 (even though I will mostly likely be reading it!). I’m getting excited for it to be out in the world. That visit did feel like a very helpful turning point. I’m so glad for the experts up there – you are part of an awesome team!!
